The amount and variety of supplies on hand earns this business half a star, but staff is very dismissive of advice. They are keeping their socotra island blue baboon tarantulas in half an inch of mulch when this species requires at least 4 inches of soft substrate to burrow in. One of the poor things was nestled under a rock. When i brought this up to staff, he rolled his eyes and said “I do what I want.” Well what about the wants and needs of the animals you care for? Overall good place for supplies but don’t buy their animals and don’t ask for advice on exotics because the man in charge does not know what he’s doing.

Had a question about a puppy that was being held there. When I asked to hold the dog I was interested in, the manager was extremely rude, very short and snippy when I had asked. I didn’t know that any dogs without a tag on their crate meant they had just come in and weren’t ready to be held or adopted. It was a simple question that deserved a simple answer and he went about it in a very unusual and aggressive way. I don’t want to have to worry about getting scolded for asking a question so I definietly don’t feel comfortable coming back in the future.

Our two dogs love going to Mini Critters for either doggy daycare or doggy over night stays. The staff know our dogs by name and give them personalized attention always making them feel at home.

Would not recommend purchasing rats from here. The two I bought (for pets) are sickly, one bit me. When I called to ask about a return policy, Ryan told me that policy stated a week. I called back when I realized it was exactly a week. He then backtracked and said actually it's only 48 hours and that's only if the rat dies. Terrible customer service. The first associate that helped me was very polite and helpful. Not Ryan though. A customer service training could be helpful for him.

While I understand its a temporary situation and so it's not space effective to provide an animal with its full adult sized enclosure in a pet store, I was very baffled to see just how bare the enclosures were. Some of the reptiles had completely empty water bowls, and others were extremely dirty. No good places for the animal to hide, and no enrichment other than a minimal amount of substate and a couple leaves. I feel they can do much better for these animals. Edit: The blue tongue skink is pictured in the photo sadly sitting beneath a small amount of substrate. He had not been sold at the time of this review. I'd understand if it were a one time thing has hides could be in the process of being cleaned, but every time I have been in the enclosures are bare.
