About Midwest School of Pet Grooming

Located at 3976 IL-22, Long Grove, IL 60047, Midwest School of Pet Grooming operates as a pet groomer serving Long Grove in Illinois. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Pet groomers bathe, brush, trim and style dogs and cats, and most also clip nails, clean ears and express anal glands. A full groom usually includes a bath, blow-dry, haircut and tidy-up; a bath-and-brush package skips the haircut and suits short-coated breeds. Salon groomers work from a shop with tubs and drying stations, mobile groomers bring a fitted van to your driveway, which is easier on anxious, elderly or reactive pets, and self-service dog washes rent a raised tub, shampoo and dryer by the session. Cat groomers handle lion cuts and matted coats with calmer, quieter setups, and many salons offer add-ons such as teeth brushing, de-shedding treatments, blueberry facials and paw balm.

The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 8 am–4 pm. It is closed on Monday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. Long Grove is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Long Grove follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. We've had a great experience here!! Our very fluffy golden retriever gets knots in his hair a lot and sheds a ton- he's always SO much better after grooming here. We've been to several other groomers and they truly do the best job! We will keep coming back!

This feisty 5 lb pooch was impossible to groom. After we adopted her , we were unable to find a groomer that was willing take the time and patience. We ended up at the vet with sedated grooming - it was horrible. When we brought Rosie to Midwest school, they welcomed her and insisted on no relaxers or cbd etc. They were able to work on her schedule , read her needs to give breaks and give her so much love as well. The confidence i now feel taking her for a groom has given me so much peace of mind. I am beyond grateful to have found Midwest school of dog grooming and will be a lifer. So many thanks - cannot gush about you all enough !!! 😁😘❤️

I am currently enrolled at the Midwest School of Dog grooming and am about halfway through the program, and I absolutely LOVE it. My instructors, Aimee and Emily, are incredible. They explain and demonstrate everything in such a helpful, easy-to-understand way. They are so welcoming and truly set you on a path to succeed. Not only are they amazing with the dogs, but they genuinely advocate for them. They’ve taught me that it’s not just about achieving the perfect haircut or making everything look nice; it’s about the quality of the experience and the enjoyment the animal feels during their groom. They emphasize positive, happy experiences, and their focus is always on what is best for the dog, which truly speaks volumes. I am so grateful I made the decision to attend this school and start my new career in dog grooming. I truly could not recommend them enough. Whether it’s your puppy’s first groom or your senior dog’s haircut, they will always treat them with the respect and love they deserve.

Unfortunately, I had a very negative experience at this dog grooming salon today. I brought my dog in for a haircut and nail trimming. We even discussed in advance whether only the head or also the body should be trimmed, so everything was clearly agreed upon. I was told that since it might be his first time, it could be a bit challenging, but that they would try and that he was there to get used to the process. I was asked to pick him up in two to three hours. However, after just one hour, I received a call saying that Milo was already finished and that he “did great.” I was surprised it was so quick, but also happy and excited to see him again. When I arrived, I was shocked to find that nothing I had requested had been done. Neither his nails were trimmed nor the hair around his face cut. When I asked why, I was simply told that “he’s not ready yet.” This was confusing to me, as I had previously taken him to another groomer who had no problem trimming his nails or grooming his face. What upset me even more was that they had bathed him without my consent—this had never been discussed—and then charged a significant amount for it. Meanwhile, the services I had actually requested

I am so grateful. Our OES is a service dog for my autistic son. She's smart and trained to do several skills. However, she is not a fan of being groomed. She'll let me do it but it's very physically demanding and I've had chemo and steroids for a while and have all sorts of MSK issues. Finally we found this blessed place with these blessed people. Our groomer was friendly and did not give up after Zelda's attempts to scare her away. You guys got us for life or as long as you'll have us. 🙏😍🤩
