Marie's Pet Grooming

I dropped off my two dogs, one who has had bad prior grooming experiences. I wanted to take him to a place where they would stop if he was getting too stressed. When I came to pick up my dogs, the groomer said she had to “discipline” one dog because he was being bad, and he had two cuts on his ear where he had bled from clippers or scissors. I had told them explicitly I’d rather him look silly or half groomed, and have him have a good experience. Obviously that didn’t happen, and now he’s more afraid than he used to be. Will not be taking my boys here again.

I have taken my dog to Marie for years now and lately there has been a deterioration in quality. This past year has had health problems with Marie but I stuck with her giving her the benefit of the doubt. I took my dog to get groomed I told Marie please don't shave to close to show skin. I get called to pick him up the shave is uneven in some places showing skin. She clipped his nails to the point of bleeding and she had forgotten to trim one of the ears. I try to buy local but this is so unacceptable is she can't groom she should have more help and stop doing it herself.

We have been taking our 10 and 11 year old dogs to Marie's for years. If you are looking for a good groomer who will treat your dogs well and give them a quality wash, cut, etc for a reasonable price Marie's is excellent. They are not vet's but they know dogs and will recommend you see a vet if they notice something unusual. If your dog is your only child, money is no object, and you want a groomer that will treat them like a human child there are certainly higher end places that will take your money. The only negative is I believe Marie is a heavy smoker, I don't think she smokes inside, but there is a cigarette odor when you walk in. I have never noticed this odor on my dogs though. They are always excited to go to Marie and act like puppies when I pick them up and they are all shiny and clean! I think that's a pretty good review in itself :)

I read the terrible review that a previous person posted, and I couldn't disagree more. We have been going to Marie's place of business for years and our two miniature schnauzers have always been treated with love. Not to mention, they look amazing after their grooming - always coming home with a bow or some-sort of cute bandanna around their collar. This is not a fancy place, but it is functional and safe for pets. The prices are great and Marie truly cares.

Marie is the best. She and her staff are excellent groomers, caring people and reasonably priced. I highly recommend Marie's Pet Grooming. I've been happy with her for many years! Kim M.
