Meet Jack! Jack is a two year old Staffy. He is the life of the party, the main snuggler of the group, and the most happy boy. Jack did have some issues that were beyond my abilities to correct. Jack needed someone who could be firm and direct. Devin was who Jack needed and he also loved on my boy while in his care. Jack did a 4 week board and train. He’s found his confidence, is MUCH less reactive, and LOVES to work. He is such a smart boy. Jacks learning doesn’t stop there… we will continue to utilize Maine Refined K9 to hone in on Jacks strengths and help him continue to have the very best life. I trust Devin to do what’s best for my sweet Jack, and that means protect his loving and life of the party personality, while training Jack to be his very best when we are out and about. Thank you Maine Refined K9 for helping me to ensure a safe and happy life for Jack but also keeping the door open for us to continue to learn! Your expertise and love for my pup is SO appreciated!!

My dog, Finn, a 30 lb poodle, finished the 4 week program at Maine Refined K9 about a week ago. I am so happy with the results so far! Devin gave him excellent training with consistency, clear communication, playfulness and competent energy. Devin thoroughly explained what he was doing with Finn and why in all our interactions. I was looking for a trainer that would give Finn the foundation of obedience and also work with me so I could competently continue training once Finn was home. Devin has been so patient with me and my million questions! Devin has exceeded my expectations.

I started my German Shepherd in one-on-one training sessions when he was five months old. He is a working line, and I was looking for help with obedience and general training. During the initial session, Devin and I spoke at length about training and my goals for Finley. From there, we began working on obedience, socialization, and many other aspects of training. Throughout the sessions, Devin not only worked with Finley but also taught me the same skills so I could continue training on my own. This approach helped me build Finley’s skills and confidence while strengthening our communication and partnership. I have been extremely pleased with the entire process and how individualized the training has been for both Finley and me. I would highly recommend Devin and his business to anyone seeking high-quality dog training. Without a doubt, I feel that I have gotten my money’s worth and more from these sessions. It’s also worth mentioning that the facility is in a very convenient location and is always extremely well-maintained and clean. It’s clear that Devin and his staff take great pride in what they do.

Can not recommend Maine Refined K9 enough. We initially signed our chocolate lab Bohdi up for three week board and train. At the close of the third week we were so impressed we asked to add another week and it paid off big time. Devin worked around our families schedule to ensure we got to visit and learn what he had been working so hard on with Bohdi. The whole crew is very polite and professional. Huge difference in the dog’s recall, place, sit, down and stay. Very impressed and will be following up with more training for sure. Thanks Devin

I’m a senior with a one year old pit/ lab mix. When I brought her home I figured I’d be 83 when she turned 10! I’m very petite and not an alpha person. My fear was of being pulled off my feet and breaking a hip. The groomer referred me to Devin and I couldn’t be more grateful! My dog was pure joy but not trained, she’s a Rescue, and already my arm hurt from her pulling. It was a big investment but I’m very glad I took her to him. She no longer pulls, will go to her “place” when told, basic commands that I never could have taught her. He also “trained “ me how to be more assertive and that was a bigger challenge I think! When I took her in for a follow up visit she went crazy wild with excitement seeing Devin! He has a sixth sense with dogs, it’s amazing to watch. He was so good to my pup and an excellent trainer who also works with people as individuals and he tries to meet their needs. I’d refer any senior who has falling fears to call Devin. He provided me years of safety and companionship with my very much loved pup.
