The best happy hour with the best service and the best bartender (Carlos) the palm tree margarita was my favorite! The nacho de are very Tex Mex and the queso is full of flavor! Can’t wait to come back again! Great service and the patio is amazing! Also great vibes overall!

It's always a challenge to write a review for a restaurant with outstanding food but really mediocre service. It's almost impossible to give a place 5 stars when the service is as bad as what we experienced. Our waiter was also covering the bar area, even though there seemed to be plenty of staff around to help with the tables. The result was a stressed-out server who forgot to refill our drinks, and we had to ask more than once for the bill. I honestly can't remember ever having to ask this many times to get the check. Such a shame, because the food is truly outstanding. Management should do a better job training and supporting their staff so the incredible work of the chef doesn't get overshadowed by inefficient service.

Local Union 271 is the quintessential Palo Alto "crowd-pleaser," offering a beautiful, airy atmosphere filled with greenery that works just as well for a business lunch as it does for a boozy weekend brunch. The farm-to-table menu is impressively broad, with standouts like the rich Duck Fat Burger, hearty Chilaquiles, and a variety of dietary-friendly Buddha Bowls. The ingredients are fresh, portions are generous, and the cocktail program is surprisingly robust for such a casual, high-energy space. However, the "honesty" in this review comes down to the noise and price. The industrial-chic design makes for loud acoustics that can make conversation difficult during peak hours, and you definitely pay a "University Avenue tax" on the bill. While it may not be the place for a quiet, intimate dinner, its consistency and ability to cater to every dietary restriction make it one of the most reliable and vibrant staples in downtown Palo Alto.

Great vibes, the food is delicious, and the service is great. The duck fat burger (though recommended) was not as amazing as I hoped, but the panini’s and soup were incredible. Cesar (our server) was super kind and attentive. We look forward to coming back again!

Amazing atmosphere, very lively and festive on holidays. The food tasted amazing and fresh without a long wait. The only thing I would add is that the menu doesn’t look as appetizing and is a little confusing to navigate. It could be more structured, and for someone eating there for the first time the food might be described as more plain than it actually is. Definitely an amazing place for a nice diner.
