Laura's Paw Spaw is a pet groomer in Gladstone, Missouri. It is listed at 6405 N Prospect Ave, Gladstone, MO 64119, which places it among the local businesses of Gladstone that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
Pet groomers bathe, brush, trim and style dogs and cats, and most also clip nails, clean ears and express anal glands. A full groom usually includes a bath, blow-dry, haircut and tidy-up; a bath-and-brush package skips the haircut and suits short-coated breeds. Salon groomers work from a shop with tubs and drying stations, mobile groomers bring a fitted van to your driveway, which is easier on anxious, elderly or reactive pets, and self-service dog washes rent a raised tub, shampoo and dryer by the session. Cat groomers handle lion cuts and matted coats with calmer, quieter setups, and many salons offer add-ons such as teeth brushing, de-shedding treatments, blueberry facials and paw balm.

What I liked most was how calmly they handled my anxious puppy. Instead of dragging him inside quickly, one of the groomers spent a few minutes letting him get comfortable first. By the end of the appointment he looked clean, smelled fresh, and wasn’t shaking nervously like before.

The store its self was a good experience. However I used their online booking option and it didn’t apply the full grooming and lamb stick I wanted only the nail trim and teeth brushing. Plus Shelby didn’t listen to a single thing I said, and didn’t give me back the treat pouch I gave her while manhandling my dog. My dog couldn’t get away from her fast enough. When I asked her if she there was someone who could do her grooming she refused after stressing out my dog, saying that she should come in for nail trims only several more times, even though my dog has been there before with no problems. Since it would be her doing that grooming it was for the best. This was the worst experience I have ever had especially at a business I used to love. At this point it’s easier and cheaper to just do it myself.

Can't say enough great things about Laura and her staff. My baby SissyLou was an abused rescue dog. She is a diva and at times quite a handful. Laura and her staff have been both patient and kind dealing with my babies trust issues. I will never use anyone else but Laura.

I have an adult rescue shih Tzu that had never been professionally groomed before and I was rather nervous about how this was going to go... These guys were great. Not only were they able to get us in on a canceled appointment, but they took their time and really made sure that my dog was as comfortable as possible for her first real grooming experience. They tried their best to do the cut that I wanted, and when they realized that she was still matted in her beard and other places they called before they proceeded to shave off the areas I had hoped to leave alone. I've already set up my next appointment and I'm so relieved and thankful to find a trustworthy group.

We've been going to Laura's Paw Spaw for roughly a year since moving to Kansas City. We were taking our Shih-tzu in for a small dog full grooming that was roughly ~$60 and it took anywhere from 3-4 hours for them to complete. I believe this is a little long considering he's a pretty small dog, but this was never an issue until recently. There has been numerous occasions where my dog's sanitary area (neuter site) has been nicked and/or what seems like being razor burned by the clippers. I made it known to the groomers several times to please only use scissors in this area specifically since there is loose skin that is easily caught in clippers. This is now the third time in a row that my dog has been nicked in the same area, even after reminding them of the area when dropping our dog off. After this happens, my pup licks the wound profusely and has to wear his cone for a week's time to let the wound heal and is a huge inconvenience. They recently had a price increase that made my small dog's grooming up to $73. In my opinion, this is a little steep for a small Shih-tzu, especially when it takes a long time for them to complete the grooming. I've had my appointment rescheduled withi
