Jefferson is in Maryland, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Jefferson is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Maryland's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Last week I had to do the thing pet families most dread, which is to have my pet euthanized. I must share my experience because while losing my pet was so very sad, the vet Dr. Smith and vet tech Jessica did everything possible to support our pet and us. They were kind and sensitive and provided a peaceful and painfree conclusion to our dog's existence. It was a nice day and they allowed us to go outside so our dog felt like she was just going for a walk/sniff, and then having a rest. We are so grateful. Thank you so much for what you did for us.

I bring my 2 dogs and my 2 cats to Jefferson Veterinary Hospital. The vets and technicians are warm and make me feel at ease with the care they provide. One of my dogs has severe allergies and between the allergy meds and injections, I know he is in good hands. I have been to other veterinary hospitals both in Frederick and in Purcellville and this is the best one by far. Thank you JVH!!

We found ourselves in an emergency situation a few weeks ago after a botched spay surgery from a spay and neuter clinic. After calling multiple animal hospitals, Jefferson was the closest and most willing to work with us.They agreed to make arrangements for us to bring our dog, Remi, in for an emergency appointment. They went out of their way to meet us in the parking lot and intake her. She was taken into immediate surgery and we knew she was in good hands upon dropping her off. As soon as the staff had started the sedation, they came into the lobby to update us on her situation. They were honest and cut straight to the point, which I appreciate in a vet office, especially during an emergency. They let us know that we would be able to go home and they would update us by phone when they knew more about her status. A representative called us shortly after we left and let us know that Remi pulled through. They continued to monitor her the rest of the day and we picked her up that evening. During this whole experience, I was very impressed with the professionalism and communication. Remi came home properly stitched up and with lots of medicine to help her recover. It has almost bee

I cannot say enough good things about the doctors and staff here. My pets have come here through all stages of life and have always gotten exceptional care. The doctors are very knowledgeable and great at giving you options in your pets care.

We have been bringing our dogs to Jefferson Veterinary Hospital for quite some time and have had the opportunity to see all of the doctors. Each one has provided excellent care, and we have never been disappointed. However, we want to especially recognize Dr. Smith for her outstanding level of understanding, patience, and expertise. One of our pups struggles with chronic ear infections due to allergies, and Dr. Smith’s knowledge and attentive care have made a world of difference. She takes the time to thoroughly explain treatment options, answer all of our questions, and ensure that we feel confident in the care plan. Her compassion and dedication to finding solutions tailored to our dog’s needs have truly stood out. We are grateful to have such a wonderful veterinary team supporting the health of our pets, and we highly recommend Jefferson Veterinary Hospital—especially Dr. Smith—for anyone looking for exceptional care!
