About In the Doghouse

In the Doghouse is a pet groomer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It is listed at 5441 Jones Creek Rd B, Baton Rouge, LA 70817, which places it among the local businesses of Baton Rouge that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as pet care, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Pet groomers bathe, brush, trim and style dogs and cats, and most also clip nails, clean ears and express anal glands. A full groom usually includes a bath, blow-dry, haircut and tidy-up; a bath-and-brush package skips the haircut and suits short-coated breeds. Salon groomers work from a shop with tubs and drying stations, mobile groomers bring a fitted van to your driveway, which is easier on anxious, elderly or reactive pets, and self-service dog washes rent a raised tub, shampoo and dryer by the session. Cat groomers handle lion cuts and matted coats with calmer, quieter setups, and many salons offer add-ons such as teeth brushing, de-shedding treatments, blueberry facials and paw balm.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 8 am–1 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach In the Doghouse at (225) 755-8225; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, inthedoghouse.top.

Customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on Google across 42 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded pet groomers in Baton Rouge.

Baton Rouge is in Louisiana, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Baton Rouge is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Louisiana's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

First time to use this groomer. She was super nice and friendly, but that’s only part of the experience. The professionalism and knowledge was so encouraging. When I left I knew my pup was in good hands. He came home looking so handsome and smelling like my clean buddy ought to! Thank you for doing such a great job on our little guy!

All of the staff were very friendly and professional. They did an excellent job grooming my 2 dogs, with great attention to detail. While some groomers try to cut corners while still charging full price, I found that In The Doghouse was reasonably priced and did quality work. My dogs have never looked better. Also, unlike some groomers, they don't overbook and then keep your pet there all day. The dogs were ready in a few hours, which is as it should be when you have an appointment. I highly recommend In The Doghouse and will use them exclusively from now on.

Called to see if they had availability to groom a miniature goldendoodle weighing 32lbs. He said they are not excepting large dogs because they don't have the man power. Continued to ask how I wanted her to be groomed, thought that was odd bc he just said they were booked and are not accepting large dogs. I proceed to answer his questions of how long I want the hair to be (3in) around not touching the tail. He proceeds to say it's just him and his wife and that they are not about to scissor the entire dog. I was confused bc I never had someone scissor my dog. Every groomer I been to use clippers.. I just ended the conversation bc no point explaining when he already said he is booked and not doing large dogs... BTW 32lb dog is not a large dog.

Love, love, love this place. My typically shy dog loves coming here. They also offer boarding and she's so happy when she comes home and I can tell she's had a good time. They are all very nice people there and the prices are fantastic! Skip the fancy facades and go somewhere where they know how to take care of your pet.

They did an amazing job grooming my pup Carter Roux! They took the time to really understand how I wanted him groomed! They have amazing customer service! It didn’t take them long at all, and they notified me as soon as he was finished. This place really gave my dog the pampering he deserved! I have to say I’ll defiantly be referring to them and using them in the future!! 💕
