Newington is in Connecticut, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Newington peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We’ve been in this spot before for treats and a toy, I love the variety that they have and that we can support a great small business. Yesterday was our first time using their grooming services and I discovered that they are booked solid for a reason! I think you’ll need to consider about 2 weeks ahead of time just in case though when we originally scheduled I actually snagged a last minute spot (our schedule didn’t end up working out) but they helped me reschedule no problem. Online booking is simple, and the gals at the front desk and in the grooming area are super nice! They took great care of Selena and she came out looking and smelling so good! We will absolutely be back, highly recommend!!!

🐾 The ultimate boutique for your pup! Kayla’s got everything from treats and chews to collars, bandanas, and even matching clothes for you. She’s a creative, out-of-the-box entrepreneur, animal lover, and community advocate. 🐶✨ Her unique ideas, such as her painting on canvas event, make every visit an experience for your best buddy or buddies. I seriously LOVE this store and all the goodies it offers for me and my dogs! ❤️

Hound and Home is the best small business pet store around. Kayla is friendly and knowledgeable. She always remembers me and my dog when we go in. My Dane, Willow, loves shopping there. She picks out her own special treat every time we go! The homemade items and the bakery are top quality. When Willow needs a bath I take her in and they let me stay the whole time to watch and keep her comfortable. I don’t know any other business as wonderful and accommodating as Hound and Home!

Lady really hates having her nails cut (or trimmed), but needs to be done often. Danielle is so gentle with our senior dog (12 yrs old). Lady never minds going to hound and home now. And of course LOVES all the scents to smell and to get treats. She can’t handle a major chain retailer it’s too overwhelming for Lady. But she loves the cozy and comfortable environment. I’ve known the owner, Kayla, for well over 20 years. She truly started Hound and Home out of the kindness of her heart and her love for animals. I always recommend Hound and Home for anyone is looking for a dog groomer or the unique and tough toys (and of course tasty treats). Lady approved 100%. Definitely go and check this local business out, you won’t be disappointed!
