About Hi Joy Hills K9
We believe every dog can be taught to be a good citizen. There are no “bad” or “stubborn” dogs, only dogs who have had the misfortune of a bad experience or who do not understand what their owner is trying to teach them. We work with owners to learn how to instill confidence and trust in their companions. We do this using positive reinforcement training theory. We recognize every dog is an individual and we do not use “cookie cutter” techniques, but use techniques that will be most effective for the dog in front of us. We encourage enrichment activities that include play and games.

Cindy and her trainers work well with the dogs and their owners. Very knowledgeable and will work with you. Great recommendations on handling training issues. *To get a good turn out on your training, you MUST practice at home each day.

I joined their beginner obedience class with my adult dog but I will definitely be taking more classes through them. They are very positive and want the handler and dog to both be happy. They embraced the things I love about my dog while also encouraging her to be more polite and reduce her anxiety. They give suggestions on how to practice everything at home in a fun way. They also help with enrichment ideas for home.

I brought my puppy here and I did not enjoy the instruction. The instructors were impatient with her, rude to me, and ignored some of my questions. Since taking my dog to a behavioralist, I've learned that many of the tips I was given in the classes would have been harmful to my anxious puppy. Also, the puppies were given little time to interact with each other. This is extremely important for socialization. If you want to teach your dog to sit and lay down (and haven't already utilized YouTube on how to do so...) then spend your money here.

We currently are using this facility for nose work with our lab. The dog loves the training and we do too! The owner is extremely knowledgeable and is very friendly with her instruction.
