In Austin, daycares and kennels usually ask for proof of rabies, distemper and bordetella vaccinations and a short temperament test before the first stay. Across Texas, holiday weekends and summer book out weeks ahead, so reserve early and ask about pickup windows, which can be shorter on Sundays. Pet sitters and walkers should be insured and bonded; ask for references and a meet-and-greet first. Check the listing for hours, phone number and Google rating.

Austin is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Austin is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

The staff, facility, and care for my kitties were 10/10 experience. I planned a trip two week trip out of the country and this was my first experience with placing my boys in a cat facility. I had messed up on the dates and when I contacted them in a panic, they were able to accommodate me. Check in/out process was seamless. Can’t recommend them enough.

My cat Spooky does not like new spaces so the staff at Happy Cat built him a little blanket fort where he could hide out the first couple days. During his enrichment time they still went in and sat with him even though he was being shy. Eventually he started coming out during their visits, and they provided all the face rubs and chin scratches Spooky expects from humans. The cat rooms have adjoining windows so he could see his neighbors and all the way out to the front of the building! We got daily updates with photos which definitely helped our separation anxiety. My only wish is that Happy Cat would provide live camera access as part of the room charge. They provide an excellent service and really take care of your cat so I don’t mind paying the price, but it’s definitely costly and the camera should be included IMO. Still five stars overall! This was Spooky’s second stay and we’ll continue to take him to Happy Cat whenever we have to leave town.

My husband and I (and our fur baby, Luna) had an absolutely wonderful experience with Happy Cat Hotel. This was only Luna’s second time staying at a boarding facility, and the difference between Happy Cat Hotel and our previous experience with a different facility was truly night and day. One of our favorite things was receiving daily email updates filled with adorable photos and a sweet little summary written from Luna’s perspective. It was incredibly reassuring to see how comfortable she became during her stay. In the first couple of days, she preferred relaxing in the cozy cubbies they provide, but before long she was coming out for pets, cuddles, and playtime with her favorite toys. The staff were phenomenal from start to finish. They patiently answered all of our questions and were happy to accommodate Luna’s feeding routine. She does best with smaller meals throughout the day, and they had no problem following her four-times-a-day schedule. When we brought Luna home, she settled right back in without any behavioral issues—except for expecting a little extra playtime after being so spoiled from the staff! We are so grateful to have found Happy Cat Hotel and would high

I have a very old cat (almost 18), and the older she got, the more matted her fur started to get. I was hesitant, but decided to give Happy Cat a shot, and am more than happy with their spa service. I can tell they're gentle with her and care about her experience - after only one or two visits, they remembered her, and said she does really well with the whole process. She comes out looking great, and it's a lot less work for me not having to deal with constant brushings and shedding and mats. The only thing I'll mention is that if your cat does have bad mats, you can expect a pretty serious upcharge. However, if you go often enough or brush your cat between groomings, that isn't an issue.

had an excellent experience with Happy Cat Hotel & Spa Austin North! Our 12-week-old kitten, Suds, stayed here and had such a fun time. As a young kitten, I was understandably nervous, but the staff took amazing care of him and made sure he was safe, comfortable, and well loved. It was clear he received plenty of attention and gentle care—he came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. The facility is clean, well organized, and truly designed with cats’ comfort in mind. I would absolutely trust Happy Cat Hotel & Spa Austin North again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a safe and caring place for their cat or kitten. Thank you for taking such great care of Suds!
