Gateway Pet Guardians

Every shelter is a little different but something stands out about this one. The people are wonderful, the facilities felt spacious and warm hearted (doesn't hurt that it's an in an old elementary school building maybe?), I could see thoughtfulness in a lot of their policies and approaches. they were very understanding about all my questions and considerations- including being open to a meet and greet where we bring our dog up socialize on neutral ground before taking home to adopt. Plus the dog speed dating event we went to was adorably themed and well done. It's hard to know where to start when looking for a rescue- if it's on your short list, I'd start here!

Just picked up the newest member of our family. Everyone at GPG was amazing. The pet speed dating event gave my wife a great intro to a bunch of dogs (I was traveling). The fact that they let us bring our current dog in the second trip just to confirm they weren't going to get immediately aggressive together made us feel so comfortable and ready to bring him home. The fact they would bring a cat in just to see how he might react is something I'm sure our two aging cats will appreciate. All around two thumbs up!

Awesome organization! I was able to bring my five pomeranian grandpups to get serviced. What a great service! Teddy, Snoh, Ivory, Halo &Goldie thank you!

I adopted my cat from here about 2 1/2 months ago and I couldn’t be happier. The adoption process was easy and both GPG and her foster mom checked in on us several times to make sure the transition was going smoothly. My cat has been such a joyous addition to my life and I’m grateful a place like GPG exists to rescue these babies in need. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend their adoption services and encourage anyone who can to donate to this wonderful organization.

Absolutely love the people who work here, I’m proud to have adopted my cat from Gateway and now fostering a cat too! They made the foster process so easy, I highly encourage everyone to consider fostering or volunteering with Gateway.
