Missoula is in Montana, in the Mountain West, where the high elevation brings cold snowy winters, warm dry summers and big day-to-night temperature swings; ski and summer tourist seasons shape opening hours in resort towns. Getting around Missoula is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Montana's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Local club encourages dog sports and responsible ownership. Friendly members, and they put on events for their membership and the public.

I called this place looking for a referral for dog boarding. The woman, Donna, who returned my call, explained to me that she was not a boarder or breeder, and could not refer me to a kennel that could accommodate a German Shepard puppy. That’s fine, and I appreciated her returning my call. What I did not appreciate was her demeanor and tone. She was rather abrupt and rude, and spoke to me as though I should have known she couldn’t refer me to a kennel. I would have preferred that she wouldn’t have called me back at all. I’m a local dog boarder, and I get calls everyday from people looking for breeders and trainers. I try to be as helpful as I can, and would never speak to someone looking for dog services in this manner. Perhaps she was having a bad day. I found her attitude off-putting and unprofessional; not at all the type of behavior that I would expect from a person representing an AKC accredited facility. Having said that, I want to make it clear that this is not a review of the facility.
