About Easdale: best pet care

Easdale Best Pet Care has offered dog boarding, cat boarding, and dog grooming in Bath Township, Ohio, since 1933. On four scenic acres minutes from Akron, Fairlawn, Copley, and Montrose, we care for each pet as an individual, not one of the pack, with staff on-site 24/7. Boarding dogs stay in indoor or indoor/outdoor runs and enjoy on-lead nature trail walks (with photos!), a ball park, playground, wading pool, and PawPrint Art classes. Cats stay in private, individually vented condos with glass views, never wire cages. Our all-breed grooming includes terrier hand-stripping. Easdale is managed by an experienced dog trainer, and we specialize in anxious and reactive dogs!

I was hesitant to post a review because I like the current owner, but things have changed with the facility. I don’t think it is very clean. My dog had a poop accident on a Saturday night and when I picked her up on a Wednesday morning she still had poop on her. That is 3 full days with poop on her. The owner said she didn’t clean my dog because she knew the dog was going to the groomer right after I picked her up. I should have gotten a call right away explaining the situation and asked if I wanted to pay for a bath. I would certainly have paid for a bath before pick up. The groomer had to bathe my dog three times to get her clean. Update: the owner said they rinsed her off which was not mentioned upon pickup. She specifically said she didn’t bathe my dog because she was to be groomed after pickup. Why say that now after I posted a review? Also, no mention of vomiting was made at pick up. All of this begs the question why didn’t they call me? I have my phone with me night and day. My dog was covered in filth.

Most of the 4 and 5 star reviews are for the previous owner. I boarded my dog there when Nancy Secrist was still owner summer of 2019. They were professional fully staffed a contract was signed to protect dog owner and company. My dog stayed there for 4 days. They asked me to bring a couple of his favorite toys, one of my worn shirts for comfort and food. I was nervous leaving him but when I returned I remember my dog being so happy! He was fresh brushed fed and waiting for me in an outdoor kennel. It was pleasant reunion. They even gave me a photo souvenir! His bag food was half eaten which I was so glad to see. Whenever I called to check on him just a couple time, the staff would take the call immediately and let me know how he was doing. I was very happy with Easdale and let them know I’d be in touch if I needed to board my dog in the future. Fast forward to summer of 2025. I arranged boarding dates in the website. Since I never received a follow up call, I called them. After a few no answers someone answered and said the reservation was confirmed. It felt as if I was bothering and not as friendly as I’d remembered. Those were red flags that made me start to question whether

We used this place to board our 2-3 year dog three separate times. The longest time was about 8 days. All three times she returned to us happy and healthy. The place does a good job of taking care of their pets. Their website is very informative with what they provide and all the different hours and times. I believe they charge about $32.50 per day. If you would like your dog to get a personal walk, it is about $6 per day. I believe a nail trim is about $6. You do provide your own food for the pet. We will definitely be returning!

Unseen I had double knee replacement surgery on June 13. I made preparations in advance. The most important was boarding my dog Kibou (pronounced key bow). Even at 11, he is still very active. I did a web search for a dog boarding facility. These items were on my criteria. *He would be walked every day *A place that had individual living areas for the dogs *Close to home I found Eastdale! I chose it without seeing the facility. It was based on the excellent reviews and pictures with descriptions. A little over 3 weeks before I took him, he tore his right ACL. The year before he tore his left ACL. I wasn’t sure Eastdale would take him, but they did. The day I took him, Erika told me all of the staff were aware of his condition. I was so impressed! Erika answered my questions and reassured me. While in the hospital and at rehab I corresponded with the staff at Eastdale. Kibou has behavioral issues. I wanted to make sure he hadn’t attempted to bite or had bitten someone that worked there. I was told he was a favorite, a doll and he was great with everyone. I was so relieved! Since returning home, I’ve seen him twice. He is great and I couldn’t be more pleased!

Easdale is a fantastic place! My 11 yr old pup gets excited every time we get in their parking lot. I know my pets are well taken care of when I have to leave. I will never use another pet boarding service! You guys are amazing!! The two photos I attached are of my pups and the ones Easdale sends me while they are in their care!!
