About Doggone Rite

Located at 3537 W Columbus Ave, Chicago, IL 60652, Doggone Rite operates as a pet groomer serving Chicago in Illinois. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Google also lists it under pet sitter, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

Pet groomers bathe, brush, trim and style dogs and cats, and most also clip nails, clean ears and express anal glands. A full groom usually includes a bath, blow-dry, haircut and tidy-up; a bath-and-brush package skips the haircut and suits short-coated breeds. Salon groomers work from a shop with tubs and drying stations, mobile groomers bring a fitted van to your driveway, which is easier on anxious, elderly or reactive pets, and self-service dog washes rent a raised tub, shampoo and dryer by the session. Cat groomers handle lion cuts and matted coats with calmer, quieter setups, and many salons offer add-ons such as teeth brushing, de-shedding treatments, blueberry facials and paw balm.

Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Getting around Chicago is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. I’ve been coming here for 2 years. The first time I brung my dog here great cut and colors. The second time sloppy. I said next time I go I will be more detailed on what I want for my dog. However, this time his Mohawk was gone. I gave another chance and just notice the front desk clerks and owner attitude has gotten worse over time. I kind of waited around one day to see maybe they don’t like me let’s see how they talk to the next guest so I waited around. Sure enough it’s the same nasty attitude. I came back to pick my pets up I now have 2 dogs. The entire place smells like bleach and dogs are barking like crazy due to the fumes.while waiting one of the groomers told a dog to shut up n I lean to the side to see what was going on shortly after someone got up n slammed the door so hard so I couldn’t see. My dogs finally come from the back sneezing, running eyes, and just completely irritated from the bleach. It was so bad that my eyes was burning no exaggeration. I believe this place has bad employees because the owner lady can be very rude and always has a nasty attitude. Unhappy manger equals unhappy employees. I will no longer be returning due to the constant issue I have at thi

Absolutely the only place we take Bella to get groomed. We’ve been taking her here for over a decade at this point and for good reason. They always get our baby doggone rite and are quick to do it! She’s safe here and always comes out cute. There have been times when I’ve picked her up and wanted her cut lower in some places and they always oblige. I’d recommend always getting the flea bath even if you know your dog doesn’t have fleas. It’s $5 extra but always worth it. We pay $70 after everything, but it’s always the best money we spend any time we take her.

if i could give a 0 star i would. this place is terrible. i started bringing my dog here recently and he would always come out with an infection on his private part. fine, we let it go cause maybe it was just an accident. went yesterday and my dog came out so scared. scared to even go in but so scared when i brought him out. now that he’s home he runs around like something hurts him on his bottom. squirming around and he hides behind our legs and under places. he can’t even sit correctly. i’ve never seen him act like this. i don’t know what they do in there but don’t take your dog. took him in at 12:40pm and got a call at 7pm. they are so ridiculous. i tried giving them chances but never again. and when i was walking in to pick him up, i see him in their window and the lady PULLINGGG on his tail hair. no patience or nothing i’m guessing. my poor baby i don’t know what to do to help his skin. he also has a cut on his balls and it’s INFLAMED and RED. please don’t come if you love your pets. they used to have 2 stars im unsure how they got up to 4… they must be fake or something cause no. UPDATE: took him to the hospital and got a $300 bill for what they did to him here.

Would give no stars if I could. PET OWNERS BEWARE of taking your pets here for grooming. I recently took my dog here for the first time to be groomed. Less than 2 days later, I noticed he was scratching violently at his ears; so violently that it was starting to scab and bleed. I also noticed oozing from his ears. I found a few fleas on him as well and my dog DID NOT have fleas beforehand. I took him to the vet and they said he had an ear infection-they stating that the most common way a dog gets an ear infection is when a dog gets wet or bathed and the water gets into the ear and is not dried throughly. The vet bill and medication were expensive. I called and spoke to Connie , who was extremely rude. Stated talking over me before I could even express my concern. She took no responsibility at all and said there’s no way water got into the dog’s ear. I tried explaining to her that is very much possible to get water in a dog’s ear when bathing them and that just like HUMANS, when water enters the ear it needs to be drained properly. She continued to talk over me and didn’t acknowledge my concern at all, instead she demanded to speak to the vet who saw my dog because “she doesn’t like
