The Dog Grooming School of Pennsylvania was a great experience and definitely worth the investment. I received my certification about 8 years ago and have been in this field for 10. The education and training from their program allowed me to hit the ground running when I returned back to the grooming salon. As with trying to learn any new skill, it does take time, repetition and patience to perfect. Thankfully, DGSP provided a great foundation for me to build my skills upon. I am very proud to say I am one of their many success stories and have full books! 🥰 A big thank you to Jim and Shara who are both genuinely wonderful people! Their kindness, expertise, patience, honesty and encouragement are exactly what every student needs in this field. Two thumbs up! 👍 👍

The Dog Grooming School of PA provides incredible services for pets in the region. For over 8 years, the school has provided grooming services at no-cost to our shelter population at the Pennsylvania SPCA. Our dogs come in fluffy and at times matted, needing the extra attention and grooming provided by the school and students. We are forever grateful for the Dog Grooming School's love and attention provided to our shelter pups!

I don’t know if this review will get flagged, but I want to share my honest experience for anyone considering this course. First, I want to say that Jim genuinely tried to explain things as much as he could, and I appreciated his effort and knowledge. However, overall, I personally do not feel the course was worth nearly $6,000 for only one month. From the first day, the environment felt very strict and intimidating rather than welcoming or supportive for beginners. We were constantly reminded that no excuses for lateness or personal situations would be accepted, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable instead of encouraging. I also want to clarify that the strict and intimidating environment mainly came from Shara, not Jim. My biggest concern is that if you enter this course with little or no grooming experience, you may leave with only very basic knowledge and still feel unprepared for real-world grooming. Yes, you groom dogs every day, but because instructors are divided among many students, there is not always enough one-on-one guidance to truly understand technique, handling, finishing work, or the realities of the industry. Another thing that disappointed me was that cust

I had a great experience with my pet grooming instructor. He was extremely kind, knowledgeable, and, most importantly, very patient. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I understood each step before moving on. No matter how many questions I asked, he never rushed me and always stayed supportive. You can tell he genuinely cares about both his students and the animals. His teaching style made learning comfortable and confidence-building. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to learn pet grooming from someone who truly knows what they’re doing and has the patience to teach it right.
