Mike was an excellent referral from a very respected friend of ours and I’m very happy we went with him. We dropped our baby girl off on Sunday and left her for two weeks! Mike’s board and train program for two weeks was exactly what my dog needed to create a great base for future trainings that we will be doing with Mike. Thank you, Mike.

We did the 2-week board and train and were very pleased with the experience. Mike did a wonderful job with our dog—you can really tell how passionate and knowledgeable he is about what he does. During our take-home session, he was not only thorough in going over everything, but also did a great job explaining the how and why behind his training methods. My fiance and I were looking to get our Malinois and Border collie puppies trained. We first tried dog academy with no luck. Mike was recommended to us and reached out immediately when we inquired! We were able to train both our dogs at each session separately and get great tips each session! Mike was able to help us learn how to better train our dogs and be able to keep the training consistent with our dogs. We saw a huge behavior change when we started being more consistent with them and implemented the techniques we were taught. We would absolutely recommend using Mike at Dirt Road K9 for any dog training needs over any commercial company.

Mike at Dirt Road K9 trained me and my doberman on his six week one hour per week class. Mike was very clear and consistent in teaching me and my dog on the 5 point basic positions. So the basic training sessions consisted of one hour a week for six weeks. Then I would train at home until the next meeting. If you want faster results Mike as board and train available. My dog is doing well in her exercises. I highly recommend Mike at Dirt Road K9. You won't be disappointed because your dog will listen to you and become the family pet you want.

I hired Mike for a six-week on-site training with my year old Dutch Shepherd mix, Kova — a rescue dog with significant behavioral challenges. She struggled with severe separation anxiety, escaping from her crate, counter surfing, leash pulling, not responding to commands, jumping on people, and more. Throughout the six weeks, Mike helped resolve many of Kova’s behavioral issues and, more importantly, taught me how to effectively train and redirect her in a way that truly works. His approach is rooted in understanding dog psychology — focusing on what the dog is thinking, rather than just what we want them to do. That perspective made a huge difference.
