Mimi got him from the humane society. I was looking for an emotional support animal and got one. Ever since Mimi came into my life, I’ve been so happy. He brings so much joy and love, and he loves to cuddle. Mimi is senior and senior often go unnoticed but they need love too. 🥰 also to to note if you are looking to see an animal I would schedule in advance as it took 2-3 hour to see a pet but worth it!

Their staff and volunteers friendly and knowledgeable! DCHS is a fear free shelter that prioritizes the animals health, both physically and mentally. The volunteers and staff teach and reinforce good behaviors from the animals. They excel at finding the right forever home fit for each animal.

They help animals live better lives. Charlie can tell you better than me. He is a rescue from the hurricane Katrina, brought to the Portage humane society where we purchased him. He is all i have left since my fiance died in 2018. Charlie is well loved.

All the people working that day were lovely! Kind, caring, and friendly. They truly wanted you to find the perfect fur-ball for your family. We added a new family member that day and our cat was truly thrilled to have a dog sister again.

We named the orange one "Willow" and the black, white and orange one "Patches". They have found out that this house belongs to them and not to us anymore. We are enjoying them and our older cat has accepted them as her family too. Thank you to the staff at the Humane Society.
