Tacoma is in Washington, in the Pacific Northwest, where winters are mild and wet, summers are dry and pleasant, and outdoor recreation drives a lot of local business; hours change little through the year. Getting around Tacoma is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Washington's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

They are very nice here, Dogs are safe which is expected. But everytime they stay here, they smell like urine and feces when I pick them up. I just feel like they might be running in their own waste and that makes me sad. Also if signed up for playtime and I thought I would get pictures, but I never did. So it makes me uneasy not knowing how they are doing, but that could just be a personal preference.

Kirby da Newf has been going to doggy daycare for about a month at County Kennels. She is beyond excited when she shows up and tired when I pick her up. Being a six month old puppy, going to Country Kennels has give Kirby an opportunity to socialize with other dogs. I was referred by a friend who has taken their dog there for sometime now and have recommended them to a couple of my friends.

My oldest dog had never been kenneled I would always have a friend stay with him at home if needed. But we just moved to WA for my spouses job and we had a 80th birthday party to attend out state. So I quickly began looking for a kennel. I got zero communication while the dogs were there no one would answer the phones, When I came to pick up all 3 of my dogs i knocked for 15 minutes and the front door was locked I tried calling over and over to have someone let me inside! I got zero feedback on how they did, did my oldest take his medication well while I was away- did he hate the experience? Was he scared or crying all week? Nothing NO feedback. I asked a couple questions and the front desk person had nothing to say for how the stay went. So I got my dogs things and never returned. Later that week all my dogs of my dogs developed kennel cough even with their vaccinations the vet said they can still get it. I spent the next 6 weeks in emergency vets with my oldest dog as he wasn’t recovering from the cough like the younger two pups. It was decided we should put him down less than 2 months after his first ever boarding experience in his life at this facility.

If you have a WORKING dog, a DOG reactive, HUMAN reactive, ESCAPE ARTIST, PROBLEM PET, our simple household couch potato, THIS is the place for your pet! I will never in my entire lifetime trust anyone else with my dogs besides Country Kennels! I know that when I am on vacation, my guys are in a safe location, with their boundaries being respected and they're safely being taken care of in a clean, well maintained environment by competent, caring employees 24 hours a day! They have indoor/outdoor runs available. Short or long term care. Always accepting reservations and you can book in advance. Day care options are also available. They also offer "hands off" care for those "spicy" guests. You can't just leave your pets anywhere when you go out of town and you definitely need to be able to leave reactive dogs in an enviroment you can trust. I'll put it this way, THIS is the location the families of the local K9 units and working dogs suggested, which is how I found out about them. If you're unsure where to leave your reactive dog, take it from an owner of 2 "A-hole" Corso's, you can trust this facility and their staff with your working dog!!!
