In Dexter, price depends on breed, size, coat condition and temperament: small short-coated dogs cost least, while doodles, poodles and double-coated breeds take longer and cost more, and matting adds a dematting fee. Ask whether the groomer is certified, how dogs are dried (cage dryers versus hand drying), whether rabies vaccination proof is required in Michigan, and how long your pet will stay. Most dogs need a groom every four to eight weeks. Saturdays and the weeks before holidays book up first, so schedule ahead and check the listing for hours, phone number and Google rating.

We were suspicious when it took 6.5 hours for grooming. When we got home, we found multiple small cuts (wounds) on her body and ears. Two weeks later, one wound in particular on her neck is still healing. We normally would not say anything and simply not return. But this morning, we found another cut/scab under her front leg and it pushed us to write this review. We have worked with many groomers and our dog is known to be gentle and calm. Our current groomer was on maternity leave which was why we tried this grooming service. We will never return, nor can we in good conscience recommend this place.

We absolutely love this place! They do an amazing job handling our lively crew of four … one large dog, one small dog, and two Himalayans. Each pet gets the full spa treatment, and they always come out looking fantastic. I’m especially impressed with the precision of the cats’ cuts … no nicks or scratches, ever! Highly recommend!

Not a good experience... the table that the dogs stood on was not lowered smoothly, came crashing down... both of my dogs fell spread eagle after it hit bottom. My one dog was so scared, she jumped off while still attached to the throat harness, hanging herself until the groomer could release it. When checking out, I was charged more than what I was quoted for a nail trim. Will not be returning.

I love Club Canine. They are so good with my dogs. I have 4 dogs and always have great experience. My bigger dog has high anxiety. Nobody else would take her. Caryn was so patient and my dog did great!!

Club Canine takes great care of our goldendoodle! We’ve been bringing our pup to them for two years and they do an excellent job every visit. He looks and smells wonderful every time we pick him up and we can tell he feels great by how he prances around after a grooming :)
