Stockton is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Stockton is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Got two sweet kittens yesterday. Couldn't be happier. Great staff. A little wait outside since office isn't huge but they try to go as fast as they can as well as still taking care of things good and proper. Great experience.

I'm looking forward to the opening of their new adoption center. In the meantime, you can adopt any animal free of charge through their partnership with Bissell. And the low cost vaccines and services can't be beat. I wanted to take home a lot of pets today.

Didnt do anything to help the animal i found. I found an animal who had a chip, who was dangering itself and other drivers due to dog walking in middle of road following people and animals into their homes. Kept her for one night and brought her in after veternarian informed me she had a chip and that the shelter would take her in the morning. I called and was told they wouldnt. I was redirected to another animal shelter and told the same thing. I ended up having to let the dog loose on the road near where she was found due to not wanting to get in trouble at my house and not having permission to have another dog at my residence. Sadly the dog was hit by a car later that night by my house i found her AGAIN was yelled at by STOCKTON ANIMAL CONTROL to be told they couldnt do anything. Until stockton police came and got her. This could have been handled as i brought her that morning i was even told by the emergency vet, and completed referal ect. I did it all dog even was chipped with owner information and informed this to the shelter none of it matter. Car was damaged, dog injured and me emotionally traumatized because i did all i could. This is a terrible system this city has in pla

We adopted our beautiful puppy here a week and a half ago. She was Chloe, now Gracie. Our experience was great. Everyone was kind, and they also make sure your pup is microchipped & spayed. Even her first vaccinations. There’s so many amazing dogs here who need homes. I am so glad we chose the shelter to adopt our Gracie girl. If you are looking for a new furry friend, PLEASE come here. 🙏🏻🐾

Where are our tax Dollars?! Their number for appointments is a JOKE! NO ONE's THERE TO TAKE THE CALLS. Or they are picking their nose or on their cell. You get stuck on the Quue for an hr. then are told "system error" and are disconnected! time and time again day after day! In the many years I have been in Stockton, never have I seen their trucks driving around setting traps catching stray cats nor catching stray dogs. There are so many injured or vicious strays yet the shelter, city, nor animal control does the job it's payed to do. When Citizens try to do it for them we get turned away. Saying, “no space, just release them”!! Because there's no space in this ONE shelter that cannot handle all the influx of animals (from good Samaritans not actual animal control picking up strays) for this very large city. I've been acused of taking my pets as an excuse to not take them in (they are ferals and community cats or abandoned dogs!) My pets are fat happy and safe at home, while I am trying to help TNR feral Cats (paying for it myself) and help homeless dogs, the City sits on their BUTT. Who's hands are holding our taxes instead of helping these animals and cleaning the city up? Everyw
