Having adopted three cats and a dog from Cherryland Humane Society, we have had great experiences all around. The shelter is sparkling clean and the dogs and cats are deeply loved by staff and volunteers until they find their forever homes. 10/10 recommend you adopt from CHS.

Clean, smooth adoption process, kind people, and wonderfully cared for animals. Not to mention a stellar volunteer program that gives the animals wonderful enrichment and locals a great purpose. Foster program is insanely well run and communication is absolutely wonderful. Most other shelters I've been to do their best but this one truly delivers

Extremely disappointed with not only the customer service aspect of this shelter but also with the education of the staff. This shelter is very disorganized, with terrible communication across not only the public but also each staff member, which even one of the staff admitted to. None of them seem to understand what is going on in the adoption process of the animals, which makes the experience very unsystematic which in my personal opinion is the opposite of what you would want when adopting a whole animal. Staff are incredibly hard to communicate with as it seems they lack listening skills and continue to interrupt when all we want is to clarify the adoption situation and process. It seems as if they do not keep track of the adoption process of the animals because each time we ask a different staff member for clarification, we receive a different answer which just proves that there is structure lacking here. Overall, very frustrating experience since these are real animals we are dealing with.

Best experience ever adopting a cat. Clean facility, clean animals, very friendly and helpful staff. Every single staff member that I interacted with was patient, kind, and very knowledgeable. Impressive organization and I highly recommend looking her before adopting an animal from anywhere else.
