Timya is the most patient groomer who you can tell enjoys her job. Our dog has always struggled getting groomed, but Timya has helped make it such a better experience.

I brought my dog, Merlin, to Charm City Groomery on October 25. I arrived at 9:24 a.m. for my 9:30 a.m. appointment, but the door was locked. The groomer arrived a few minutes later and let me in. They generally do a decent job — the grooming itself was fine, though the teeth cleaning wasn’t done very well. What really disappointed me was how they handled pickup. The groomer verbally told me Merlin would be ready at 12:30 p.m., so that’s what I planned around. Instead, I received a text at 11:14 a.m. saying he was ready, but I didn’t notice it since I was expecting a call like before. When I arrived at 12:18 p.m. and paid at 12:20 p.m., I was charged a $25 late pickup fee — supposedly for being five minutes past their one-hour window. I explained the situation — that I was told 12:30 p.m., didn’t get a call, and came as soon as I saw the message — but they still insisted on the fee. I ended up paying it (receipt #2726, total $103.80) , but I won’t be returning. It’s unreasonable to expect customers to drop everything for an early pickup when they’ve been given a specific time verbally. The grooming itself was fine, but the poor communication and rigid policy left a bad impression

Charm City Groomery has been a life-saver for us. I have a very sensitive dog who has long-struggled with grooming, especially nail clippings. While I shave her down myself, she has black nails and is extremely wiggly to the point that our vet no longer clips her nails. Cameron at Charm City Groomery has not only been willing to take her on, but has helped us talk to our vet to get medication that has helped tremendously with high-stress situations and has helped us desensitize her to nail clippings overall through suggestions for short nightly trainings. She has been flexible and kind and takes tremendous care of both Zoe and our other dog who has deformed back legs. She also keeps track to see the maximum time our dogs can go between clipping to reduce stress on them- something most groomers would do the opposite of! Huge thank you for shifting nail clippings as a major stressor to just another Saturday morning activity!
