Pet groomers bathe, brush, trim and style dogs and cats, and most also clip nails, clean ears and express anal glands. A full groom usually includes a bath, blow-dry, haircut and tidy-up; a bath-and-brush package skips the haircut and suits short-coated breeds. Salon groomers work from a shop with tubs and drying stations, mobile groomers bring a fitted van to your driveway, which is easier on anxious, elderly or reactive pets, and self-service dog washes rent a raised tub, shampoo and dryer by the session. Cat groomers handle lion cuts and matted coats with calmer, quieter setups, and many salons offer add-ons such as teeth brushing, de-shedding treatments, blueberry facials and paw balm.

I have been taking my cats to this practice for over 14 years. The staff, including Dr. Mahanes, have always been extremely professional, pleasant and compassionate to all of my four cats. I recently I had to put one down and, the entire staff could not have been more caring and compassionate. When the time came to put him down, no additional treatment was recommended. My husband and I had time alone him and the transition could not have been more gentle and very special. I have always recommended and will continue to recommend this practice to my family and friends. I have total confidence that they will be very happy taking their cats to Dr. Mahanes. If I could give 10 stars I would. For now, 5 stars will have to suffice.

I have brought my kitties to see Dr. Mahanes and the team for over 15 years. Over this time we've had routine visits, preventative dental care with sedation, urgent medical and dental work with diagnostic tests as well as collaboration with the local emergency Vet. The conditions managed have spanned dermatology, cardiology, GI and respiratory system based problems. We've been very fortunate that in general, the kitties we've had have been rather healthy. When problems arise, Dr. Mahanes has consistently been very honest, open to discuss the possible diagnostic and treatment options, and genuinely compassionate about our fur babies' wellbeing. The team runs like a well oiled machine – better than most UVA medical clinics – and are very responsive. I am truly grateful for them!

Dr. Bruce and the crew at Cville Cat Care is top notch. I had used them once back in 2019 and they were great then. For some reason, I elected to go to another vet for my now geriatric cat who seemed to be failing. While the OTHER vet (who I will not identify) had great technical skills but lacked a good bedside manner both for me and my cat. That makes a HUGE difference and Cville Cat Care excels both technically AND in bedside manner. Highly recommend.

We are ew clients and find this practice great. I love that it is cats only; they are very attentive to needs of kitty, questions of owner, and quite efficient. Dr. Mahanes is great. Staff is great.

I have since moved from Charlottesville and no longer use the Cat Care Clinic, but I do find myself longing for them in my new home. When searching for the cause of my senior cats wheezing they not only found that he had inflamation in his lungs, but also knew that he would not be able to undergo treatment due to a heart murmur they discovered. They pointed me to a cat cardiologist for further care, and now, he almost seems to be getting younger and more spry with the years. I know he will not be with me forever, but I am grateful that they armed me with the knowledge I needed to provide the best care for him possible to enhance his golden years.
