Carter's Pet Mart

We purchased our first male guinea pig from PetSmart, where we were advised that guinea pigs do best with a companion. Since he was the last one available, my daughter found another male guinea pig, Teddy, at Carters, and we purchased him the following day. When we picked Teddy up, we noticed he was housed alone in a separate enclosure from the other guinea pigs. We didn’t think much of it at the time. From the very first introduction at home, Teddy was aggressive toward our original guinea pig. We understood that some dominance behavior is normal, so we gave them time to adjust. We purchased a larger setup, duplicate hideouts, food bowls, water bottles, and everything else they would need to reduce competition. Unfortunately, after several months (April through July), Teddy continued to teeth chatter, intimidate our other guinea pig, and even steal treats and take them into his hide. Despite our efforts, they never bonded, and we ultimately had to separate them into side-by-side enclosures so our first guinea pig, Philip, could finally have some peace while they could still see each other. We love Teddy and are committed to giving him a good home, but looking back, we wonder i

Best pet supply store around. The staff are super helpful and friendly, knowledgeable about products and dietary concerns regarding your pets. They even help carry out heavy kibble bags to your car if you need it. Awesome people.

When it is decision time for finding the safest and the priced correctly feed and supplements from friendly helpfully people you don't expect all of these elements to be accessible so easily. The crew - the product and clearly an excellent process pours from the hearts of the staff of this gem in Modesto. Their front door should say we love you because clearly they do. Thank you to everyone here at this location you should all get bonuses and perhaps a trip to the mountain winery for the concert of your choice - Samuel (Modesto Network).

This is my favorite pet store ever! Evelyn greets me by name when I come in and knows just what I'm looking for. They even opened an entire shipment of boxes searching for my rabbit's fave hay topper! Their selection is perfect for my needs since I have 5 cats and a rabbit, plus they're right next to Safeway where I grocery shop! Couldn't ask for better placement. I highly recommend this store for anyone with a variety of pet needs.
