About Canis

We have everything for your pet.

Canis is a pet groomer in McAllen, Texas. It is listed at 2813 Colbath Ave, McAllen, TX 78503, which places it among the local businesses of McAllen that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

Pet groomers bathe, brush, trim and style dogs and cats, and most also clip nails, clean ears and express anal glands. A full groom usually includes a bath, blow-dry, haircut and tidy-up; a bath-and-brush package skips the haircut and suits short-coated breeds. Salon groomers work from a shop with tubs and drying stations, mobile groomers bring a fitted van to your driveway, which is easier on anxious, elderly or reactive pets, and self-service dog washes rent a raised tub, shampoo and dryer by the session. Cat groomers handle lion cuts and matted coats with calmer, quieter setups, and many salons offer add-ons such as teeth brushing, de-shedding treatments, blueberry facials and paw balm.

The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. Typical hours are 8:30 am–4:30 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (956) 854-0125. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.

With 4.0 out of 5 on Google from 87 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for pet groomers in McAllen. Recent reviews are the best guide.

McAllen is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around McAllen is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

pet parents like to be entitled and gang up on salons with so much lack of knowledge. The lady said she was only gone for 25 minutes and the dog "ozzy" was not even bathed yet. for reference, a bath, dry, ears, nails and full groom will take bare minimum an hour. then you have end of day duties to clean the salon, they may even have to go over the register here. for there to be time for the groom to be complete, shop cleaned up and not only closed, but groomer has already left? she was not gone for just 25 minutes. that's a very good 1.5-2.5 hours she did not pick up her dog. not sure what happened to "you can't believe everything you see on social media" (especially in the grooming industry) but it's sad to see grown adults harassing a business they've never went to, all based on one persons word that doesn't even add up. i hope more people chime in to counter these unwarranted 1 star reviews!

This place did my Ozzy wrong. I took him in for grooming . When I took him at 1:30 he still didn't have him ready by 5:15. So I waited I was texting him if my Ozzy was ready and he wouldn't text back. So I said ok I know he is busy so I waited and nothing so my husband went to go check on him they were Closed. I went into shock my poor baby he is only 5 months. I called the police cause I could hear my Ozzy crying so I started crying . They had left my baby locked in there. The police checked and we were calling the owner of the place and he would not answer or text back. I had to go home crying. When I went in the Morning to get my Ozzy the Guy just said I called but nobody answered. That's a lie cause he never called me.. And he said that he had to leave. But I told him you could have responded my texts. I told him that I had called police and his response was I don't care. I told that how can he do that because we leave our fur baby's with him and he says I don't care. I told him this is your business you should care cause we trust you. And all he said you have to pay me. I told him I am gona pay you but you shouldn't have this business cause you don't care about the animals

I have been taking my dog to Cani’s for almost a year now and I’m really happy with the experience. The owner is friendly and patient, and my dog came out looking (and smelling!) great. You can tell they really care about the pets they work with. Definitely planning to come back for the next grooming appointment!

I just realized I’ve been taking my baby to Mario for the past 6 years and I’ve never left a review .. I want to say that Mario is the BEST groomer ever !!! 🙌 I cannot take my baby anywhere else !!! Every time I have, I regret it and I end up right back here. When I’ve tried other places, my dog starts shaking and acts weird but with Mario he acts just fine 🥰 I really do think dogs sense vibes and energies and my baby really likes Mario.. you can tell Mario is truly passionate about his job and he genuinely cares 🫶 Been going to this place for the past 6 years for grooming and Barvecto pills and hopefully more years to come !!! Never disappoints!! Thank you so much Mario & staff for yalls service and communication !!! 🥰❤️ Keep up with the great work !! 👏🏼👏🏼

If I could leave 0 stars I would. They did a horrible job on my dog. Left cuts on his body and bruises on his ears and head. His ears are purple from how hard they brushed them. There is no reason for my dog to have bruises on his head. He is a small dog. Leaves me wondering how he was treated while there.
