In Ashland, daycares and kennels usually ask for proof of rabies, distemper and bordetella vaccinations and a short temperament test before the first stay. Across Massachusetts, holiday weekends and summer book out weeks ahead, so reserve early and ask about pickup windows, which can be shorter on Sundays. Pet sitters and walkers should be insured and bonded; ask for references and a meet-and-greet first. Check the listing for hours, phone number and Google rating.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 7–10 am. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (508) 881-7364. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, campcaninedogspa.com.
Its Google rating is 4.0 out of 5 from 54 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.
Ashland is in Massachusetts, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Ashland peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Long overdue. Been a dog owner for 40 years and have taken my dogs to 50 or so day-cares nationally. We’ve been homeowners in Ashland and several other communities that whole time as well. Camp Canine in Ashland has been a staple of subpar and low-class service for decades. Would you expect anything less from dying brand/business? That place has only gotten worse to a point where they can’t even execute basic function of diligent dog-care. Use them as a last resort.

We have been boarding our family member, Archie (3yo), at Camp Canine since he was a puppy, and we never had the chance to review this wonderful place. Archie absolutely loves it here. The staff does a fantastic job caring for him and always takes time out of their busy schedules to play with him. They regularly send updates with photos of Archie having a great time. He’s usually pretty tired when we pick him up and ends up sleeping the rest of the day—probably because his puppy pals don’t let him rest much! We boarded Archie once for nearly three weeks, and he did great during that time. Typically, our stays are about a week long and usually coincide with school vacation week.

Camp Canine has been absolutely fantastic as the world transitions back to hybrid work. We had to find somewhere that opened early enough to drop our dog off and still give us time to catch the train and make it to work on time, but was also late enough to allow us to stay at work until 5. Camp Canine's hours are perfect for us and was the first reason we chose to try them. After one visit, our dog was already obsessed! He loves being outside all day, and playing in the hose (this is a new game that he learned at Camp). I love that I can check in on him during the day with their webcams, and the staff always takes great pictures and sends a daily update through the portal. Our dog cries with excitement when he knows he's on the way to Camp in the morning, and I feel good knowing he's well taken care of.

Extremely disappointed in the care and response from the owners. While boarding our dog here, she developed painful, bleeding hot spots due to being left wet after daily water play and not being dried properly. We had to take her to an ER vet for treatment and medication. When I brought this to the owners’ attention, they failed to acknowledge any responsibility or offer any compensation for what was clearly a preventable issue. To make matters worse, their response was delayed by two weeks and came across as hostile. I left my phone number and a voicemail and never got a call, just a defensive email. Following that, they even deactivated our access to the reservation portal. Our pets deserve better care, and pet parents deserve to be heard—not dismissed. I truly hope moving forward they ensure dogs that are boarded aren't left wet or damp overnight and try to do better. However, they gave no indication that they were going to change anything in their care routines moving forward. Below is a photo they uploaded into the reservation portal of her clearly being soaked with water, the other photos are after the ER vet where she had to be shaved down and given steroids to clear them

We had never left our dogs behind on our trips before so we were a bit nervous. The staff at Camp Canine were wonderful to us and to our dogs. We had them go for a few single day visits and one overnight before we left for a 6 night trip. Our dogs were so happy! They can’t wait to get out of the car when we bring them there. The staff are so upbeat and positive and really understand the dogs’ personalities. We were able to check in on them on the web cams as well which was a comfort to us. My son ate breakfast watching them play outside on his phone. Now that we are home, the dogs are happy, clean and healthy and didn’t miss a beat. I highly recommend!
