Pet groomers bathe, brush, trim and style dogs and cats, and most also clip nails, clean ears and express anal glands. A full groom usually includes a bath, blow-dry, haircut and tidy-up; a bath-and-brush package skips the haircut and suits short-coated breeds. Salon groomers work from a shop with tubs and drying stations, mobile groomers bring a fitted van to your driveway, which is easier on anxious, elderly or reactive pets, and self-service dog washes rent a raised tub, shampoo and dryer by the session. Cat groomers handle lion cuts and matted coats with calmer, quieter setups, and many salons offer add-ons such as teeth brushing, de-shedding treatments, blueberry facials and paw balm.
Hours are published for 5 days a week. On most of those days it is open 8 am–5 pm. It is closed on Monday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (773) 252-7500. They always took excellent care of my cat Tsuki who was incontinent and would need to be bathed every now and then. This was the only place where I knew she would be groomed well and wouldn't come home stressed. Thank you so much for taking care of my sweet girl while she was still with us. <3

A fine establishment, but unfortunately I don't think they're a good place for skittish or slightly reactive dogs, especially if they're large. Also did not appreciate being told that we almost missed our appointment when we were given an incorrect time, further we provided notes about our dog in advance, none of which were relayed to the actual groomer. I think smaller dogs or dogs with perfect behavior are well suited for this place, but that's about it. I would not recommend grooming here for any other dogs. Update: Unfortunately, we're compelled to provide additional clarification based on the gross misrepresentations contained within the owner's comments. First, our dog was stressed in part due to the decision by the groomer to attempt to drag him into the room, a decision which almost resulted in his harness coming off completely. Second, it's being conveniently alleged that our dog attempted a bite - a behavior he has never engaged in with his past three groomers - and this allegation is made based on a closed door interaction. While we highly doubt the veracity of this statement, what was audible was our dog crying loudly in the backroom, mere seconds after being taken

Took my cat for her 11th birthday. I was nervous at first because she is older. They informed me that they will stop and give me a call if her eyes get red and her heart raises. When I picked her up they gave me details on her experience. She was only upset for a few minutes when we got home. I think they did an amazing job she smelled so good. And I noticed she hasn't been stress licking since her grooming. The store is very cute and it was nice seeing the groomed dogs come out to their owners.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST GROOMER AROUND. We have taken our dog to multiple groomers in the area, and by far Bow & Meow, and the Owner Ursula is the best the north side has to offer. Not taking my girl anywhere else.

As a new dog mom, I was in desperate need of a same-day bath and haircut for my little Winston (a cavapoo). He had started looking more like a wolf than a dog, and I couldn’t stand it anymore—he needed to look like a pup again! I called Bucktown Bow & Meow, and Ursula was beyond amazing. Not only was she super kind on the phone, but she also managed to get us in for a grooming appointment the same day! Let me just say, this place is absolutely adorable. It’s a cozy little dog boutique, and as soon as we walked in, Winston was immediately drawn to Ursula (he’s usually a little shy with strangers, so that says a lot). She made him feel right at home, and I could tell he was in good hands. I didn’t know exactly how to explain what I wanted for Winston’s haircut. I was trying to communicate what I envisioned, but it was a bit of a jumble! 😂 Ursula totally got me though—she was so patient and understanding with me, and she even gave me some really helpful advice about Winston’s coat and general care. It was clear that she’s super knowledgeable and genuinely cares about the dogs she works with. The grooming itself was incredibly fast, and when I picked Winston up, I couldn’t believe h
