Hillsboro is in Oregon, in the Pacific Northwest, where winters are mild and wet, summers are dry and pleasant, and outdoor recreation drives a lot of local business; hours change little through the year. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Hillsboro follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. Reading reviews, this place seems to have a bad reputation, but we didn’t experience any of that. Everybody that we spoke to was kind and courteous and you could tell they really loved the animals that they were handling. This has got to be a tough place to work, I’m sure it’s filled with many ups and downs. That said, our experience was fantastic.

Had an elderly dog that is blind and deaf and her younger brother decided to open the back door and my old dog wandered out into the cul de sac...I noticed 10 min after she was gone, and my neighbor i found out after the fact took her here (I lived next to him for 20 years btw)...anyways immediately called the shelter before they even posted her and asked if she was there, and she was. I drive down there and they treated me like I was some horrible person and had an officer talked to me about her having a mat in her ear and distressed...yeah shes a long haired 18 year old dog that weight 8lbs. They also charged me an insane amount to get her back because they decided to give this scared dog who CANT SEE OR HEAR like 7 vaccines even though shes up to date. Ridiculous place.

My dog was picked up on a Saturday morning. Not even an hour after being picked up, I was at the facility only to find they're closed on the weekends and my dog won't be able to be picked up until Monday. Meanwhile the fees rack up because they're housing her and there's nothing I can do about it. The lady on the phone (Stephanie) was beyond rude and unwilling to help in any way. This was before I started even pressing the issue. Trust the negative reviews. This feels like a shakedown.

Called the line to report a cat hit by a car and provide some dignity having it removed from the roadway. They said they were going to send someone out. That never happened. What did happen was the small carcass ended up getting driven over hundred and possibly thousands of times before becoming a clump of dirty mangled fur since the Shelter/Services ultimately did not want to honor their word to remove the animal from the roadway or provide any type of dignity for the deceased animal. I guess you got too busy to care about a dead animal being driven over multiple times. This animal services of Washington County should be embarrassed for themselves if that's how they treat or view life.

The lady at the front desk lacks customer service skills. She looked completely uninterested in helping me find my cat, who got lost several days ago. I explained I listed my pet as missing on the website, and I was getting notifications about possible matches. There were several cats that look like mine, and she said my cat wasn't at this shelter, and that all the cats the website I showed her had already an owner.
