Newark is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Newark is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New Jersey's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I want to share my experience with Blunt K9 because I’m honestly really happy I chose them. After doing extensive research, I decided to go with them but it was also more of a recommendation since I had a friend who trained their dog with them and had a great experience. They trained my dog, Spiky, a couple of months ago. I enrolled him in their 6-week board and train program, and even though I’ve been meaning to post this sooner, life with work and family got busy. Spiky is a schnauzer and struggled with reactivity issues, separation anxiety, and excessive barking, which I know can be common with the breed. I’ve actually worked with two different dog trainers before, but I was hesitant to try another one because it felt like they weren’t really getting to the root of the issues with my dog. Blunt K9 has been the only one that has truly given me real, noticeable results. After working with them, the change in Spiky has been incredible. He’s much calmer, more focused, and able to handle situations that used to trigger him and so far he’s been such a good boy. One thing I really appreciated is how much they genuinely care for the dogs. They treat your dog like it’s their own, not jus

Christian has been a miracle worker with our 80 lb. pitt bull mix Louie. From the jump he provided an in person evaluation at our Brooklyn home, walking with him and closely observing his behavior. Louie was a rescue and at 5 years of age had never been trained. He had extreme reactivity and aggression toward any other dog he saw while out on leash. He would also bark excessively and growl at any new person entering our residence. Throughout Louie’s six week program, we got daily videos and texts demonstrating Christian’s training techniques and Louie’s progress, showing Louie becoming less insecure day by day and as a result more comfortable out on leash and able to ignore approaching dogs even when they were barking at him or showing signs of aggression! Lou learned commands we’d never had any success with such as staying down and in a specific place outdoors even in distracting environments. Christian also gave us humans a thorough tutorial on how to continue and build on his training now that’s back home with us. On our walk this morning he waited for me to head out the door first and immediately obeyed commands such as “leave it”, ignoring other nearby dogs, even when a big do

I can’t recommend Christian and his team highly enough. I brought my dog, Rainy, to them for a board and train focused on reactivity and off-leash obedience, and they did an incredible job. From the very first meeting, Christian’s calm demeanor immediately put Rainy at ease, and it was clear he truly understands dogs and how to build trust. The progress Rainy made was noticeable and meaningful. What I appreciate most is how confident I now feel in Rainy’s recall. Before the training, I was always hesitant to let her off leash because I worried she wouldn’t listen if something distracted her or triggered her. Now, I feel completely comfortable letting her roam free knowing she will return on command. The off-leash e-collar training is there as a safety backup, but I’ve found that 95% of the time I don’t even need it, she responds right away to just my voice. Still, having that extra layer of security gives me real peace of mind in case of an emergency. They were professional, patient, and communicative throughout the entire process, and their approach truly strengthened both Rainy’s behavior and our bond. If you’re looking for a trainer who delivers real results and genuinely care

Christian made a huge difference for our family. We sent both of our dogs to his one-month board-and-train program, and it was exactly what we needed: personalized, thoughtful, and transformative. Our older dog (6 years old) had been the “only child” his whole life, and bringing home our second dog—full of puppy energy at a year and a half—turned both their worlds upside down. On top of that, both dogs had reactivity around other dogs, which made walks and everyday life stressful. From the evaluation, Christian was able to understand each dog’s unique personality, tendencies, and triggers, and he came back with clear plans tailored specifically for each of them. He truly understood what makes our dogs tick. Their self-control has improved dramatically, their reactivity has significantly decreased, and, maybe most importantly for us, they’re now able to play, relax, and actually enjoy each other’s company at home. Watching them peacefully hang out together has been such a joy, and we didn't even think it would be possible. Christian brings so much expertise, calm presence, and genuine care for the dogs he works with. They absolutely adore him. We first heard about him through the

I came to Christian with concerns about Scooby’s behavior around other dogs/animals. As well as obedience issues because of his breed. Although I was worried that Scooby would be defiant or against the training with proper techniques and guidance we were able to get him to be a completely different dog. No leash pulling, follows orders and has lost all reactivity. His methods may be new to people and looked at differently but it’s a necessary step in the process to build a bond with your best friend and being able to effectively communicate with them. Christian is a great trainer and understands the tougher breeds to handle. Definitely look into training if you want a deeper connection with your dog.
