Never again 😔 Nervous about trying out a new groomer for our Shih Tzu. Was told on the phone when making the appointment, that a 17 year experienced groomer would be the one providing service that day for him. Upon arrival, only 2 young ladies were on site and they both visibly looked overwhelmed with 2 large dogs on the tables and 3 smaller ones in their kennels awaiting to be groomed. We hesitated but still thought we'd go ahead and give it a shot. Before getting to see what our dog even looked like we were asked to pay... WAY OVERPRICED! He looked TERRIBLE! His entire body, legs and feet were really short, almost to see the pink of his skin. His long fluffy tail was cut short and thinned out, his face around the nose was short and uneven. No trimming of his ears or top of head or around his eyes. When we asked what had happened we were told that he was being a little bit wiggly and if we wanted to schedule another day to "touch it up" then we could do so. We decided that we would not be going back for any "touch ups" as we feel that these young ladies are just far too inexperienced. Once getting home and hearing our boy barking, he sounded raspy. Wow. We used to enjoy this place. HOWEVER, last time they nicked our pups tail (he had a little bump on it and they sliced it by accident) .. things happen! No worries. However they didn’t tell me about it which to me, was a bit of an issue. I didn’t realize until the drive home when I saw him bleeding all over. Instantly took him back to bring it to their attention. They were somewhat apologetic. But we decided to give them another shot, since of course, things happen. I just picked him up today. Took him home. Looked over, as he was licking his stomach, and noticed something. Turned him over and he has a large gash in his stomach and two small cuts in his armpit. I am LIVID. I instantly called (an hour and 45 mins before they closed) to no answer. I called back multiple times, before getting in my car to drive there. They closed almost 2 hours early. Upon pickup earlier I noticed they put my pups harness on while he was still in the crate at the other end of the salon (i’m assuming to hide the GIANT GASH in his stomach) This is unacceptable. Like I said things happen. But to HIDE it from me and attempt to COVER IT UP… is unbelievable. Will NOT be returning. DOG OWNERS BEWARE.

My husky sheds nonstop, especially during warmer months, and I finally gave up trying to manage it myself. The groomer spent a long time deshedding him and showed me the pile of loose fur afterward, which was honestly shocking. I noticed a huge difference the same evening because my couch stopped collecting hair immediately. The appointment ran about fifteen minutes behind schedule, but the front desk apologized and kept customers updated the whole time. Friendly atmosphere and very patient staff overall.

My dog has struggled at other groom shops because he gets so nervous... grateful to have found Tacomas Best!!! The staff are so kind and patient with my golden doodle. He always comes back smelling clean and looking sharp! Sam is the greatest. So sweet & professional. It can be hard to get into because they can't always answer the phone when they're busy, but the quality is well worth it!

Best pet grooming we have found in king or pierce county! The value, service and professional shop is unbeatable. We are always greeted with a smile and warm welcome. I regularly recommend this place highly to all my friends and family.
