Beaumont is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Beaumont follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I visited Beaumont Animal Care today with the intention of looking at the animals, and I left heartbroken. The moment I walked in, the facility appeared dirty and poorly maintained. There were scraps of toys and clutter throughout the entrance, and the front counter was disorganized. The smell inside was overwhelming a combination of old urine, feces, and bleach. When I walked back to the dog kennels, the conditions were even more concerning. There was little to no fresh air or noticeable ventilation. The ammonia odor from urine was so strong that I genuinely felt lightheaded. Many of the dogs were lying completely still, and at first glance some appeared lifeless. I don’t blame them the air quality was so poor that I almost had to leave immediately. I then visited the cat area and experienced the same issues: a strong odor, stagnant air, and conditions that did not appear clean or well maintained. These animals deserve so much better. Shelters are stressful enough without forcing animals to live in an environment with overwhelming odors and poor ventilation. The City of Beaumont should be ashamed that its municipal shelter has reached this condition. Whether that means investi

Animals are cared for and it was really hard deciding whichever furever baby to take home. The majority of the kittens really liked us and wanted people to take care of them.

Disappointed with the lack of a response. I brought a small puppy there that was abandoned, tied to a fence without water or shade in the Texas sun. I was told that the earliest that they could take the puppy in would be six days later. I chose to keep the dog. She is a well-rounded puppy with lots of energy and love to give. Sad that my tax dollars contribute to this. Just another example of why I am moving from Beaumont Texas.

I lost my boy of 14 years in February. I saw Cassidy on the noon news and knew he sent her to help heal my heart. She is now Dolly and is perfect in every way. Please consider adopting a new member of the family from them. Thank you for everything you do to save them.
