My dog, Poppy, loved going to Barks & Rec for daycare for several months. She has anxiety, and the staff was always kind and made her feel comfortable, which is why I trusted them with boarding. I boarded her over the Fourth of July. Because Poppy is terrified of fireworks, I was very clear that she needed to receive her trazodone. I entered it in the online portal, placed a sticky note with her food, and reminded the staff member during drop-off. I was assured it wouldn’t be an issue since many dogs were also receiving trazodone. When I picked her up the following evening, I was told she had never received her medication due to a miscommunication. Overnight, she became so frightened that she completely shredded her bed while trying to cope with the fireworks. Poppy is a tripod, and she was digging so much throughout the night that I had to take her to the veterinarian afterward because her remaining front leg was sore. Missing that medication on the Fourth of July was a significant mistake. I was also told that it wasn’t discovered until “later that morning” which makes me question how supervised the dogs really are there. Had it been a normal weekend, I wouldn’t have been as u

Barks is the best! The staff is always so friendly and my dog is so excited to go back each time! The best part are the report cards I get after each day with the cutest pictures (included) so I know she had a blast. I’d recommend Barks and Rec to everyone I know!

My (generally anxious) pit bull mix LOVES his daycare days! The whole team is thoughtful and kind, and I’ve always felt safe leaving my baby in their hands. We’ve also had great experiences with the groomers! If you’re considering a daycare, boarding or grooming service then Barks and Rec is for you.

Can’t say enough good things about Barks and Rec! We have been bringing our dog Charlie here for a few years now for both daycare and boarding. They have been incredibly accommodating with medication administration and catering to our dog’s needs as they arise. Prices are great and the staff is always very welcoming!

Our pup has been going to day care at Barks and Rec for about a year now and we can’t express our love and gratitude enough! We were nervous about leaving her all day with other dogs at first but the staff helped ease the nerves with their communication, professionalism, and care for our baby. The staff is great at communicating any concerns or issues and puts a plan in place immediately to avoid any future problems. We can tell how much our pup loves going to daycare and we know she is well cared for!
