About Barking Palace

Barking Palace is one of the pet groomers listed in Staten Island, New York. The business is registered at 445 Forest Ave, Staten Island, NY 10301; use this page to check its hours, phone number and Google rating before you make the trip.

Pet groomers bathe, brush, trim and style dogs and cats, and most also clip nails, clean ears and express anal glands. A full groom usually includes a bath, blow-dry, haircut and tidy-up; a bath-and-brush package skips the haircut and suits short-coated breeds. Salon groomers work from a shop with tubs and drying stations, mobile groomers bring a fitted van to your driveway, which is easier on anxious, elderly or reactive pets, and self-service dog washes rent a raised tub, shampoo and dryer by the session. Cat groomers handle lion cuts and matted coats with calmer, quieter setups, and many salons offer add-ons such as teeth brushing, de-shedding treatments, blueberry facials and paw balm.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. Typical hours are 8:30 am–3:30 pm. Note that it does not open on Tuesday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (347) 825-2820. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.

Customers rate it 4.4 out of 5 on Google across 174 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded pet groomers in Staten Island.

Staten Island is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Staten Island peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Barking Palace! I brought my 18-year-old dog, Milo, in today. He’s a very difficult dog to groom and has always been a challenge. We’ve been told by other places that he has what seem like seizures on the grooming table, and he’s usually double muzzled because he’s so hard to handle. The owner, Jaime, worked with Milo today, and I was amazed. She kept him calm and comfortable the entire time and didn’t have to use a muzzle even once. That alone speaks volumes about her patience, experience, and the genuine care she has for animals. When I picked him up, his haircut was absolutely beautiful, and he looked so happy. The entire team at Barking Palace is incredibly family-oriented, kind, and welcoming. You can truly feel the love they have for every pet that walks through their doors. They treated Milo like he was one of their own, and that means everything to me. I highly recommend Barking Palace to anyone looking for groomers who are patient, compassionate, and truly love what they do!

We brought Candy here about a month ago and were disappointed with her grooming, but we decided to give the salon another chance. Unfortunately, this haircut was even more disappointing. We requested a teddy-bear style cut. The only special instruction we gave was to be careful around her stomach because she is a nursing mother. Beyond that, we expected what anyone would expect from a professional groomer—a neat, even, well-balanced, finished haircut. Instead, Candy’s face was not rounded into the teddy-bear style we requested, the hair around her eyes and muzzle was uneven and poorly blended, the ears were not shaped into the haircut, and the overall grooming looked rough and unfinished rather than polished. Looking at her, it simply does not look like she received a professionally finished groom. When we called, we were told to bring her back. While I appreciate the offer, the response left us feeling as though the issue was that we hadn’t been specific enough about what we wanted. I don’t believe customers should have to explain that they want a haircut to be even, properly blended, symmetrical, and professionally finished. Those are the fundamentals of the service we’re payi

I took my 70 pound golden retriever puppy here for her first grooming session ever this past Saturday and she walked out looking absolutely beautiful. Her coat was so soft and shiny, she smelled good and her nails were trimmed great. Highly recommend!

Worst experience I’ve ever had with a grooming business. I brought in my two yorkies for a normal grooming, and when I picked them up they had the choppiest, most uneven cut I’ve ever seen on them. Their nails were done unevenly, and they still had crust in their eyes. I still left a nice tip, and when I got home I called and voiced my concerns, only to be met with a callous and unapologetic tone from the groomer, Jamie (or Jaime). I had already decided not to bring my puppies back, because she clearly doesn’t care.

I’m so sorry to say that I took my baby to Barkin Palace for summer cut , Whoever groomed, her did horrible, horrible job. I thought the bandanna around her neck was so cute when I removed it and saw where her haircut was so uneven some places she’s cut down practically to the skin and other places is patches of long hair. The cut is so uneven. It’s just terrible terrible job for $75. It is the worst. I won’t be going back. Thank you for responding. However there were no mats in Her coat. She was just at PetSmart grooming three weeks ago for a Luxury wash. I brought her to you to show support for small businesses and to get what I thought would extra care. I’ve been there more the once. Things did not turn out as planned and the hair cut was very disappointing. The fact that your response is, she was mated is also very disappointing because it is simply not the truth. She had short hair. It just wasn’t short enough for the hot weather. I noticed the full cut when I removed the bandanna Once I got home. I had to leave for work right after. I didn’t anticipate that I would have to return to have you to correct something that should’ve been done properly in the beginning. If y
