Dallas is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Dallas is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Our 1.5-year-old Golden Retriever, stayed at Barking Hound Village in Lake Highlands for a week. We picked her up Sunday at 5:15 PM, and within hours it was obvious she was very sick. She was having severe coughing episodes to the point of vomiting, with long streams of green nasal discharge and significant eye discharge. She was diagnosed with kennel cough and is now on antibiotics. She is getting so sick that we may have to take her back to the vet again. What is most upsetting is that we were never told she was showing any signs of illness. The only thing we were told at pickup was, “She didn’t eat much today.” These were not subtle symptoms, and it raises serious concerns about how closely the dogs are actually being monitored. When I contacted management, I was told they could not confirm she got sick at their facility and therefore could not help. I understand they can’t prove exactly where an illness originated, but that doesn’t change the fact that she spent a week in their care and came home seriously ill without us being notified. Our vet also told us three other dogs had recently been brought in with similar illnesses after boarding. I cannot say those dogs were at Ba

I don't like leaving Lucy when we go out of town but I felt at ease and so grateful for the care that was provided her when we went on vacation. I loved being able to see pictures of her daily and that made me so happy knowing she was so well cared for. Our sweet girl loves people and got so much attention at Barking Hound Village. We will definitely be bringing her back here on future dates.

I must say, this place is so welcoming and truly feels like a safe haven for our dog babies. From the moment I walked in, everyone greeted me with a smile, kindness, and genuine warmth. You can immediately tell that they truly love and care about the dogs in their care. It was my dog’s first day at daycare, and as a pet parent, that can always feel a little nerve-wracking. However, the staff made the entire process smooth and reassuring. They took the time to answer my questions and made sure my dog felt comfortable and secure. I felt confident leaving my fur baby in their hands, and that peace of mind means everything. I’m so grateful to have found a place that treats our pets like family. Highly recommend! Tito’s Dad!
