About Bark Out Loud

Pet groomers bathe, brush, trim and style dogs and cats, and most also clip nails, clean ears and express anal glands. A full groom usually includes a bath, blow-dry, haircut and tidy-up; a bath-and-brush package skips the haircut and suits short-coated breeds. Salon groomers work from a shop with tubs and drying stations, mobile groomers bring a fitted van to your driveway, which is easier on anxious, elderly or reactive pets, and self-service dog washes rent a raised tub, shampoo and dryer by the session. Cat groomers handle lion cuts and matted coats with calmer, quieter setups, and many salons offer add-ons such as teeth brushing, de-shedding treatments, blueberry facials and paw balm.

No hours are on file. If you plan a visit, phone first or check the Google Maps link on this page for the latest times. You can reach Bark Out Loud at (773) 427-0955; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 60 reviews, which is a strong result for a pet groomer in Chicago and suggests consistent service.

My Bernedoodle Nova and Husky Max ADORE them. My husky drags me to the door when its time for a grooming! Both of my dogs have been so content afterwards. So grateful for their efforts! Thank you.

I cannot say enough good things about Anne! I was honestly very nervous bringing in my chihuahua, who can be pretty aggressive and anxious around new people. From the moment we arrived, the Anne was calm, patient, and clearly experienced with handling dogs who need a little extra care. Anne took the time to go at my dog’s pace, made sure she felt as comfortable as possible, and never rushed the process. When I picked up my dog, she looked AMAZING—and more importantly, she wasn’t stressed or shaken up like he has been after past grooming experiences. It’s such a relief to finally find someone who truly understands how to work with reactive dogs. If you have a dog that’s a little “spicy” like mine, I highly recommend Anne; she is very kind, professional and compassionate.

Megan has been absolutely fantastic with our young Dawson. The communication via text has been efficient and welcoming. We love this place.

Anne and staff are the best! They love my girl just as their own. Very reasonable price. Very accommodating with time reservations. The best local groomer in Portage Park.

I took my beautiful Bella, to get groomed for the first time, (mind you she gets her nails and ears cleaned at her regular vet) but I wanted her to have a full puppy spa experience. 😂 I was nervous, because she’s 8lb, 11 years old & sassy. Obviously she had a wonderful time and was a good girl the whole time. She smells AMAZING. If you’re looking for a kind and sweet groomer, BARK AT LOUD is the right place for you. I will definitely be bringing my baby back. Support local & small businesses.
