Santa Monica is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Santa Monica is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

If 0 stars was an option that’s what Bark & Birch would get from me. We had to go retrieve our dog from her “trainer” because he hadn’t been in contact with us for over 2 weeks! Our dog was extremely neglected. She was housed in a kennel with no roof and a small dog house with no hay. There was no access to food or water and her kennel was full of feces! SHE CAN’T EVEN WALK BECAUSE HER PAWS ARE SO CHAPPED!! She is terrified and will not even come out of her cage. Oh and she was a HOUSE DOG who was supposed to get house training but was left outside!?

I was excited to use Bark and Birch for my 7 month old pit bull mix. However, after making payment my family was displaced due to Tropical Storm Henri last Sunday morning. Me, my twin 7 year old boys and our pup lost the entire first floor of our home and are now relying on friends, family and strangers to stay afloat. Needless to say, the large amount of money I planned to spend on dog training is not very high on my list of current priorities. Ensuring I provide food and shelter for my family is of the utmost importance. I reached out to Bark and Birch to see if we could please cancel the service so I can use that money toward paying down my $5000 insurance deductible and food/shelter for my family, but they said there is nothing they can do and that the only option would be to reschedule the service. I am obviously very disappointed that they are not willing to cancel the services, especially since no work has been done yet - we hadn't even scheduled a start time for the training! I understand that there are terms and conditions when signing a contract, but I find it hard to believe that they are not able to make an exception here. I could see if we had already fully scheduled t

My 8-month old Weimaraner participated in the board and train program under Manny. His unrivaled experience proved invaluable for Charlie and he came back home knowing basic commands, leash training, crate training, and obedience . Manny sent me multiple progress videos daily and explained in each video what he was doing and how to continue the training once Charlie got home. I highly recommend Manny to anyone looking to teach their dogs discipline and obedience. Manny is thorough, consistent, and highly knowledgeable. He certainly went out of his way to ensure Charlie was receiving the catered training he needed. I am very impressed.

We took our 2 dogs to Lauren and she was amazing with them! One of our dogs did a 4 week rehabilitation with her and the other did a 3 week custom program. She made sure they were both comfortable. It’s amazing what she can do in what seems like such a short time. We couldn’t even let our dogs in our backyard alone because of how bad they were fence fighting. They can now run freely in their own space. Lauren was so sweet through the whole process and sent pictures or videos daily. Highly recommend if you’re looking to have your furry one trained!! Thanks again, Lauren! -Patrick and Gina :-)

Revision on my review. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! My trainer is AMAZING. But I was lucky compared to others. Employees did not get paid and clients got money stole from them. I had money take from me, but not all of it. I couldn’t recoup since it was longer then 60 days, but again I state, I am lucky since I am not an employee who got scammed out of thousands of $$$. My trainer Brittany IS amazing! I have a Corgi puppy and she bonded with him, trained him and got him on the right doggy path! Hes a smart lil'guy and he took to her training right away. I also learned things about my dog, the way I speak and how to follow through with the skills and tools she has giving me. I knew the very basics and this is the first puppy ive owned, thank goodness they sent me Brittany!
