We've been utilizing John's kenneling services for probably over 10 years now. When we have picked up the dogs, they are always well and happy to see us. Also the prices are very competitive and the facility is local to where I live. He has also been happy to do last minute accommodations when i have had to do that. It is not a fancy dog hotel nor are there a bunch of bells and whistles but John is attentive, professional and calm which is a good quality to have when working around dogs. He also offers other services like dog walks during boarding and grooming. When i come to pick up or drop off I see him working the grounds or busy in the kennels. His home is right on the property which is nice. Our latest dog was not well socialized at first and not great with men but has had no issues with him, although jokes about his barking (which is very true). Some things to keep in mind...make sure to offer specific instructions (and write down) if your dog has special needs like feeding times, medication, etc. Also take note of the hours. One day and on weekends he closes earlier than normal. (Sunday's pick up is only an hour long). Finally if your dog goes to the bathroom on the property

Decided to give this place a try since they have $5 nail Trims on Tuesday. He also does boarding/daycare. He had several dogs outside in Kennels. If I had my dog at a doggie daycare I certainly wouldn't want him caged up all day. As soon as I walked it I could tell it wasn't going to be a pleasant experience. I should have just walked out. My already nervous dog hates his feet touched... To get my dog up on top of the table he grabbed him by the lead that was attached around his neck and pulled him up. Once he got them up on the table he gave him a pat on the side that was more like a slap .As he was trimming his nails he had the lead on a hook so tight on my dog's neck that he was starting to choke his response to that was "well loosen it up a little bit" but it was impossible because he had it so tight on his neck. I had to go and put my fingers into the lead to loosen it up. My dog also squeeled in pain when he was trimming one of his nails. My dog started whining because he wanted out of there and he told me "you know when you comfort him you're rewarding that behavior". Thanks Ceasar Millian. I could not wait to get out of there. Definitely stay away from this place. If I

Used this place based on reviews and it was close to home. Was really excited due to the owner telling me all about his 40 plus years of experience with dogs. Dropped him off for 5 days of boarding. Picked him up in a hurry and didn’t realize it till I got home but my dog was really beat up, bloody, skinny, and had feces on him. He needed immediate care. Extremely disappointed. Definitely not what I expected Never again!

John is the best! My dog Shadow has been in many boarding places because he is a home body and gets aggressive when out. He's a sweet dog but very protective of me so barks at people that comes near then they get afraid. John know how to handle him and even gave me and my spouse some good training ideals. He is truly wonderful and Compassionate with the dogs. This great is a great place to send your dog 🐕 ❤

John offers a great service at Apolda Kennels & Grooming. He did a great job on our dog Cricket, and was attentive to my instructions, even though I wasn't quite sure how to describe the grooming I wanted. Cricket looks and smells great. The price was very reasonable. I'd be happy to bring her back again for grooming or boarding.
