Our senior dog, Miss Clara had a seizure on June 2026. We took her in and since this was her 1st one, they explained it could be just something she had gotten into or a fluke. Because of her age, and slightly elevated BUN levels, recommended not to put her on meds, but did send us home with Valium to give in case she had another one. They instructed us to call them if she did. Unfortunately, Clara did have another 2 seizures over the weekend in August. I took her back in and saw Dr. Avery and tech, Christian. They could not have been nicer or more compassionate to Miss Clara or myself! Dr. Avery took her time to explain all options and each medication, along with the side effects associated with each and allowed me time to process and make an informed decision on how to proceed. I was never rushed and felt each question I had was throughly answered. Unfortunately, Clara’s BUN had doubled since June, and her ALT is elevated now,, so I know her kidneys functions are worse and her liver is now affected. Dr. Avery explained that this is common in older dogs. Again, I was not pushed to make a decision to put her down, just given a complete explanation of Clara’s condition and allowed th

I have been a client with Animal Medical Center since 1998, and their level of care has been consistently exceptional. Over the past 28 years, they have provided outstanding medical attention and compassion for all of my pets. Dr. Heithcock is an excellent veterinarian, and David, the vet tech, is remarkable with my pug. Their professionalism, kindness, and dedication make Animal Medical Center truly outstanding.

My daughter & I called when our sweet Boxer, Byrd, was actively passing & they told us to come straight in, no hesitation. The staff & doctor were very kind & caring & explained the euthanasia process clearly to us. We were so grateful for their compassion & blessed to be able to spend Byrd's last few moments with her. It was a very peaceful process & we know she was not in any pain. They didn't take advantage & charge us too much, they were very fair. I can't thank them enough for their knowledge & empathy for us during that most difficult time. We love you, Byrd, forever. RIP 🌈 4/17/2017 - 7/28/2026 #ByrdDog #LadyByrd #DirtyByrd #Byrdie

My very young (5 weekish old) kitten had a medical emergency Sunday and we rushed him to VEG - he was there 6 hours and they suggested hospitalization with an estimate of about 6k; however, I was able to transfer him to Animal Medical Center who got him stabilized and took care of him for 4.5 days, all while ending up only about 1600 bucks ( keep in mind I had all the bloodwork, X-rays, ultrasound, etc done at VEG prior so there were none of those costs except one extra blood work to check again and a fecal ). They did a fantastic job updating me every day and were patient with answering my million questions. We got to bring him home yesterday after thinking Sunday he wasn’t going to make it. I am so grateful to them and wanted this out there so if people are trying to find out where to go for decently priced emergency vet, I’d highly recommend AMC!

Staff really cares about our furbabies. Prices are high, but expected with the economy. I wish they’d stop pushing the “wellness panel” at every visit, but I know I hear it more than most since I bring a dozen different animals here.
