Fort Collins is in Colorado, in the Mountain West, where the high elevation brings cold snowy winters, warm dry summers and big day-to-night temperature swings; ski and summer tourist seasons shape opening hours in resort towns. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Fort Collins follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. This adoption center continues to put out unfit dogs that should be euthanized, to the community. The dog I adopted was on 3 behavior medications, which they never mentioned until the last half hour of the 4 hour adoption grind. It was like a car dealership. I was so worn down. I’d agree to anything. I just wanted to go home with my dog. The dog went from being spaced out and suspiciously “too good” on the test walk, to being dangerously aggressive with my grandson after having let him walk her around the yard on a leash the previous day. Also, my daughter got a dog from them years ago that gave them 7 years of horrible STRESS, GULIT and TURMOIL! A lot of diligent effort to break its neuroses against men, and constant stress including quarantining from their baby/child! Then finally, after it continuously escaped when they stopped hyper-managing it. They resisted rescuing it back out (again) out of the animal control. And then they had to navigate more horrible guilt from the animal control calling them over and over, “their responsibility” —but they were steadfast and did NOT give in. They did not continue living with a horrible dog that should NEVER have been their

We have been waiting for perfect fit to come along and join our family. We came across Tayto through AFA and knew we had to have him. The adoption process (at their Westminster EAC location) was smooth and everyone we spoke with on the phone or met in person was so kind. Welcome home, Tayto!

We adopted Kenai 2.5 years ago. He was a little nuts when we first got him, but with training, patience and love he’s one of the best dogs I’ve had. Recall is great, listens well, and can take him off leash just about anywhere. Thank you AFA for an amazing addition to my family. I just can’t believe someone would not want him anymore, but I feel so fortunate to have him. The first two pictures are when we got him at 6 months old, and the last is at 3 yrs.

We were blessed to have adopted two black sister kittens from AFA in February! We visited their Taft Hill shelter but didn't connect with any cats there. And then we saw our two cats on their list, but they were at a foster home. We were able to easily and quickly set up a meet n greet with the foster home. We put a hold on them so that we could discuss and make a decision, and the next day we drove them home <3 My only "complaint" (which really isn't a complaint, more just information for others looking to adopt) is the 24-hour hold policy. We felt very rushed and pressured into making a quick decision, because of the potential for others to meet the cats and adopt on the spot. I'm so glad we were able to keep our kittens together, as they are a bonded pair. They gave us all medical history and accurate information. The kittens are healthy and so fun. We absolutely love them and are so grateful for the care and work that AFA provides!

I've taken all my dogs to them to get spayed and neutered over probably at least 10 years. They are the most reasonably priced place around and they always do amazing work on my pets. I will continue to come here as long as they are there. People are always so nice i can tell they treat my dogs like their own pet would be treated.
