Pet groomers bathe, brush, trim and style dogs and cats, and most also clip nails, clean ears and express anal glands. A full groom usually includes a bath, blow-dry, haircut and tidy-up; a bath-and-brush package skips the haircut and suits short-coated breeds. Salon groomers work from a shop with tubs and drying stations, mobile groomers bring a fitted van to your driveway, which is easier on anxious, elderly or reactive pets, and self-service dog washes rent a raised tub, shampoo and dryer by the session. Cat groomers handle lion cuts and matted coats with calmer, quieter setups, and many salons offer add-ons such as teeth brushing, de-shedding treatments, blueberry facials and paw balm.

My family had only positive experiences with Dr. Kristin and the rest of the staff at Amherst Animal Hospital! My fiance and I brought our cat, Boris, in, thinking we were going to have to put him down… Dr. Kristin assured us with her treatment plan that he had good odds of survival and recovery. She also worked within our budget. Our boy was in their care for 72 hours, and the aftercare and continued customer service has surpassed my expectations! He is continuing to improve and regain his health. Their communication, organization, and compassion is beyond amazing, more than what I’ve encountered in animal healthcare at other locations. They were gentle, patient, and professional with handling Boris. I felt completely at ease with him in their care. We had such a great experience, that I decided to bring our second cat, Esme, in just for a wellness visit and establish a patient relationship in case of future emergency with this baby. Staff here really listens and answers all your questions, and was able to provide refills on meds quickly and conveniently! I am very pleased with all the experiences I had at this office and look forward to continuing to trust Dr. Kristin and her sta

I had a very disappointing experience with Amherst Animal Hospital while trying to get my dog in for an emergency skunk bath. When I called, I was told that my dog could be seen as long as I sent over her vaccination records showing she was up to date on her vaccines. It took me about 40 minutes to contact my veterinarian, obtain the records, and have them sent over. After they were received, I got a voicemail stating that my dog could not be seen because she did not have the canine influenza vaccine. At no point during the original phone call was I told that the canine influenza vaccine was required. Had that been mentioned from the beginning, I could have saved a significant amount of time during an already stressful situation. When I went to the office to ask for clarification, Delaney's demeanor came across as dismissive and passive-aggressive. She repeatedly stated that my dog was "not fully vaccinated," even though my dog is current on all of her core vaccinations. The issue was not that my dog was behind on her routine vaccines—it was that the hospital also requires the canine influenza vaccine, a requirement that was never communicated to me during my initial call. This place is a joke. 2 visits total. First visit I could hear the vet talking poorly of me through the door because the exam room was right next to the checkout counter. Second visit I get a vet who seemed to think vitamins are more important than antibiotics, forgot to prescribe a medication that she said she was going to prescribe causing me to have to ask for it. Then they shorted me on that medication, giving me a bottle with 4... FOUR drops of medication when it should have been an absolute minimum of 40 drops per the label directions, to cover the 10 day course of treatment --- excluding the drops needed for "use it as needed after the 10 days of treatment". At 35+ dollars for those 4 drops of medication. To buttress the argument; I am in the medical field, I have been medically trained in many ways, I have performed 1000+ surgical procedures on humans. I am not an idiot, I am not a typical layperson, I understand weights and measures. I did not miscalculate the number of drops in this bottle, nor how to use them. I was disappointed in this place when I went there for pet care when I was 8 years old as a child, and I am disappointed giving them a second chance and going ther

I just wanted to say thank you to the staff here. My dog injured his leg. I called multiple different places to see if I could get in ASAP and was told no. Then I called Amherst Animal Hospital. The receptionist took time to listen to my concerns and got me in same day. Not only that, but the entire staff is super friendly. The entire process I knew my dog was in good hands and felt comfortable. They took good care of him and addressed any concerns I had. I will continue to come here and I’m already recommending my friends to bring their pets here. Thank you so much for showing me so much kindness and treating my dog with so much care.

I can't thank them enough for the care and compassion they showed my sweet cat Wicket. They had never seen him before but squeezed him in emergently, at the end of the day. He was not himself and very sick. I wish they could have known him prior to how sick he was. Never the less they treated us with compassion and empathy and did everything they could to help us. I will never forget their kindness. You are all angels.
