I am extremely disappointed with the experience my dog and I had at Ames Pet Resort. The communication was poor, expectations were unclear, and the way my dog was handled caused her completely unnecessary anxiety. I was told her daycare evaluation would happen right when she arrived and that she would join daycare afterward if she passed. Instead, she was put in a kennel for three hours before the evaluation even began. She is not normally kenneled, and being confined alone causes her significant stress. By the time they evaluated her, she was already anxious, which they then used as the reason she “failed.” This is completely out of character for her. She has attended MULTIPLE daycares over the last two years and has NEVER had issues with anxiety or playing with other dogs. What made the situation worse is that the evaluation was finished before noon, yet no one contacted me. I received no call or email letting me know she failed or that she was struggling. Instead, she sat in a kennel all day, anxious and alone, when I could have picked her up immediately. I paid a fee for her to sit in a kennel all day and be stressed, something I never agreed to and would never have allowed.

These folks do wonderful jobs at taking care of my four legged members of my family! I’ve always been apprehensive when leaving my dog Buddy in the hands of total strangers outside of the person who watches him. But I can count on two that do it RIGHT and allow me to not sigh by KNOW Buddy will be treated and loved like he is at home with Ames Pet Resort! I highly recommend these folks for all of their services, they get it right the first time and are professional humans who care for your pets as much as you do! Don’t believe me proof is in the pudding!

First time dog owner here and my dog Milo got his first deluxe bath today! Everything from check in to pick up was great! Friendly staff - they answered all my questions and assured me that Milo was a good boy 😅 I didn’t allot enough time for his bath and unfortunately made other appointments for myself so I ended up picking him up before receiving a message that he was done. When we got home, he still was shedding a ton but honestly I didn’t really give them a chance to finish brushing him out! Also, he smells SO GOOD! They even managed to brush his teeth. I don’t have to worry about his nails or coat for a while. Thank you again for doing amazing work on him and being so kind and patient!! Will be back for sure 🫶🏼
