Hilo is in Hawaii, where the tropical climate keeps temperatures steady all year, tourism drives much of the local economy, and prices for goods reflect the cost of shipping to the islands. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Hilo follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I had the privilege of attending Dawn's basic obedience class with my foster dog, Banjo. I really enjoyed it. It was jam packed with so much helpful info. It started with basic steps to have a connection with your dog & then build off of that. I want to take it again with one of my personal dogs. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Dawn is very knowledgeable and cares a lot about dogs and their owners. Her classes are very reasonably priced for educational material my dog and I have learned. I feel that I am able to understand my dog better now because of the classes we have taken together. I highly recommend these classes for dog owners. You will be amazed at how well the relationship between your dog and yourself improves and grows in such a positive way.

What sets Dawn apart is that she always has the wellbeing of the dog at the forefront of her mind. The moment I step into Aloha Dog Academy, I know my dogs are safe, protected, and eager to come back. She's created a space that's comfortable, low-stress, and actually fun for both dogs and their owners. Her training is positive, fear free, and enjoyable for everyone involved. You can tell her approach comes from a place of deep knowledge and real compassion. She doesn't just train your dog — she helps your whole family build a better bond. Highly recommend Dawn to anyone who wants lasting results and a deeper connection with their dog.

We just love bringing our pup to the Aloha Dog Academy twice a month with our 14 month old pup. Dawn is extremely knowledgeable about dog behavior and needs, and this has helped us become better pup parents. Our dog gets the socialization and physical exertion that she needs which is so important in her development. We also get to socialize with other dog parents. We would take her more often if scheduling allowed for it! Dawn offers a wide range of classes and for all ages. Thank you, Dawn for providing us with these opportunities! We highly recommend Aloha Dog Academy!

Dawnʻs natural ability with dogs was visible the second she laid eyes on her. Lucy fell for Dawn immediately. My girl was about a year old when I adopted her from the Humane Society, who saw her through an incredible case of Ring Worm, and a complicated recovery with a foster family. When Lucy came home with me, she was skinny, very high energy, and as naughty as a pup her age should be. She loved to chase ferrel Chicken and Kalij. Through Dawnʻs positive approach to training, for both me and Lucy, and after several months of working with her, we together were able to get Lucyʻs attention, stop chasing birds, walk well on a leash, and most importantly have good manners. At the start I seriously questioned my decision to adopting this high energy pup, but now canʻt imagine my life without this funny, loving, popular and very sweet girl. We still have the occasional zoomie and moments of not listening, but thanks to Dawn reminding me about the importance of reinforcement training and engagement, we have a happy life together. Thank you Dawn for getting us there!
