Trainers and dog parks help dogs stay calm, social and easy to handle, which makes grooming visits go smoothly. Dog trainers teach puppy classes, basic and advanced obedience, leash manners and agility, in group classes, private lessons or board-and-train programs; certified behaviorists work on fear, aggression and separation anxiety, often alongside a vet; and dog parks give dogs a fenced, off-leash place to run and meet other dogs.

Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Cincinnati is in Ohio, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Cincinnati follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

John is excellent at what he does from the very first encounter. I could immediately tell he had years of experience working with dogs. I chose to have John take my dog home with him to accelerate the process, I wouldn’t do it another way after seeing the results. Great experience!

John trained a German shepherd puppy for us as a service dog. He went above and beyond to meet our needs and did an absolutely amazing job training both us and the dog. Very highly recommend All About Dogs!

We adopted a 2 year old German Shepard / Lab mix from a shelter named Sherlock. We already had a cat and needed to integrate Sherlock into our household to co-exist successfully. When we brought Sherlock home, he was nervous, chased the cat, did not respond to commands and pulled constantly on walks with the leash. We sought out a trainer (prior to working with John) and the training techniques were treat based, confusing, and did not show results. We knew there must be a better way and were lucky to find John at All About Dogs Training. When we took Sherlock to John, we could tell immediately from the way Sherlock and John interacted that John knew what he was doing. We worked with John for several months learning how to handle Sherlock. Throughout the process, John explained the psychology behind dog behavior and demonstrated how we could become pack leaders in the eyes of our dog. In summary, the process made sense and worked. Sherlock now consistently responds to commands and has a relaxed demeanor. He would still like to chase the cat but listens when instructed not to chase. On walks, Sherlock walks next to us and sits when we stop walking. Sherlock no longer needs to be on

John was referred to me by satisfied friends and vets as the best trainer in the area. He has lived up to every expectation and we continue to go weekly for follow up training. I would recommend him to anyone who wants their dog trained properly. My father has used his also with his new puppy.

John (no relation) is an expert dog trainer and has trained three (large) dogs for us. The transformation he works with the dogs is close to miraculous--ours have gone from disobedient puppies to following basic obedience commands in a week. That is worth it and changes your relationship with your pet. He does an equally terrific job training owners how to interact and take control of their dogs. Having used other trainers, we can vouch that his methods work, while other approaches seem too complicated and did not work for us in the long term. You can spot dogs John has trained on your walks. They are well trained, heeling on the owner's left, sitting at every stop, eyes always checking their owners--not the dogs leading their owners on a retractable tether. I read another review's concern, and I can say John made completely clear to us that his board-and-train program involved him taking our dog to his home. It lives with him for the week, so this is not a surprise. John is honest and forthright. Our experience was very positive, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
