Ahead of the Pack

We used to have great experiences with grooming our puppy golden retriever here. This last experience was awful. They didn’t take off any hair and I called them once we got him home and I noticed the lack of cutting. After 25 calls they answered and they made it right but redoing him over the weekend. Feel like they should have disclosed that he was hard to groom due to excitement when we l picked him up. After his re-do groom on Saturday morning- we had to rush him to garden state hospital in north jersey for emergency stomach surgery as he was dry heaving all night. X-rays showed a large amount of hair in his stomach. I am not sure what their practice is with vacuuming while grooming but we have never had this is issue at any other groomer. Our dog is a healthy 18 month old puppy who thankfully survived stomach surgery.

We went here for years because they always catered to my senior dog by coming downstairs to trim my senior dogs nails. They changed owners and it is definitely different now. My husband arranged for them to come downstairs to cut and file my 14 old lab nails like they always used to do. When I get there they tell me the groomer would be able to carry her up the narrow stairs? The groomer didn't even try that, she tries to get her up the stairs and she fell on the 1st step! The groomer said her nail grinder wasn't able to be portable. She ran upstairs and got one to my confusion and did my dogs nails. Every couple of seconds the grinder would die out. I was so stressed and so was my dog. I really tried to help in anyway by sitting on floor keeping my girl calm but it was not a good experience. I will never go back now that it changed owners. It unfortunately is so different now and not in a good way.

Strolling along downtown Haddonfield on Kings Highway, you can come across a lot of really cute shops. This one, Ahead of the Pack, is especially cool and unique. Ava, the sales associate, was especially helpful and warm. Not only does this place have all kinds of fun toys, accessories, and food for your furry friend, but the second floor is a complete studio specializing in grooming for both your dogs and cats.

I had my shitzu-poodle groomed here for many years before she passed away. They cuts were always perfect and the staff so friendly and helpful! I remember the first day we adopted her we came in the store for gear and the owner was just so kind and generous about finding the appropriate size and desired items needed. The baked treats are also very tasty…according to my pup lol! Fast forward to this week when we now have a puppy and I’ve ordered countless harnesses online only to return them all for poor fitting. I brought our puppy in the store and again we found the perfect fit and comfortable harness for him as well. I just love this place and their staff :)

I can’t say enough good about ahead of the pack. I have been going here for years and I would NEVER GO TO ANOTHER GROOMER. They are simply wonderful, caring, and even better my dog leaves happy every visit. The customer service is exceptional with her appointments and the grooming is beautiful. Moreover, my dog loves it here. She loves the staff, the treats, and all of the compliments she receives on her pink paws. It makes me happy to see her so happy and I highly recommend you take your dog here. All of the groomers are wonderful. My dog saw Willie for years and now she sees Melissa. Also the owner Chris is very passionate about your dog having a wonderful experience and I can’t thank her and her staff enough for all that they do.
