criselda is honest, knowledgeable, funny- but most of all, she's dedicated to advocating for what your dog truly needs. i never ever thought i would be where i am at with my behavioral dog, who has been in training since 6 months old with other trainers. i have PTSD and severe anxiety from when he was younger and used to try attack people, strollers, bikes, scooters- literally everything. all of my previous trainers had told me that my dog feeds on my anxiety, which makes him more anxious, but criselda had a way of pushing me out of my comfort zone and educating me in such a concise and meaningful way in real time. when i wasn't physically present, she sent me 10+ videos of her narrating what she was doing and why she was doing it. she built the program about what was most important to me and my relationship with my dog (sitting in my front porch with passerbyers, passing restaurants, sitting at coffee shops, etc). though i would love to keep criselda close, she's provided me with enough confidence and knowledge to fly on my own with my son, chippy. most importantly, though, she has been able to support me in providing my dog with the ability to participate in typical fun dog activ

Criselda has been a wonderful trainer for our dog, Tinsel! Tinsel has always been a handful—from constantly pulling on the leash and snapping at other dogs to suffering from severe separation anxiety and being overall highly reactive. After sending him to a three-week board-and-train with Criselda at A Bark Away, Tinsel now thrives in a much more structured routine. We can finally walk him properly without constant pulling, and we can take him to parks or busy environments, bypassing other dogs without any crazy reactions or anxiety. He was once a dog we could never bring to fun places, but now we’re able to take him on exciting adventures like hikes and even on the subway! Criselda is a true miracle worker with amazing guidance and knowledge for training any kind of dog. Because of her incredible work, we were convinced to also send our other dog, Tala, so Tinsel wouldn’t regress around her. With both dogs through their training, they are now so much easier to handle. If you’re looking for a reliable, highly experienced, and amazing dog trainer, I highly recommend Criselda from A Bark Away!

Recently, my five-year-old dog, Tala, was with Criselda for a three-week board and train, and the experience was amazing! With Criselda’s guidance, Tala has transformed so much for the better. Before training, Tala would pull a lot on her leash and have difficulty listening to commands, especially when we were outside. After training, Tala is able to heel perfectly and listen to various commands--like "no," "sit," and "place”—even in busy environments. Tala’s little brother, Tinsel, also had a three-week board and train with Criselda back in March, and he has transformed from an anxious, reactive dog to a much calmer, more patient dog. Now that Tala has also been properly trained by Criselda, it is so much easier to walk and manage them both at the same time thanks to the structure she brought to their lives! Throughout the duration of Tala’s training, Criselda gave us daily updates about her progress, including pictures and videos, as if Tala was still with us, lessening our worries about her whereabouts. Overall, this was a great investment for us and our dog, thus, I highly recommend Criselda for her wonderful training services!

Criselda has been a life saver! We’re due with our first baby soon and needed help with our two dogs who are good 80% of the time but unpredictable the other 20%. Criselda gave us the tools to gain charge and ownership of that 20%. Friends and family are commenting on the impressive changes the dogs made in just a few weeks and we’re very confident bringing the new baby home now. The dogs went to board and train for three weeks and we got constant updates on them and their progress and even after finishing the boarding Criselda has remained available to answer any questions we have.

My 1½ year old dog, Larry, recently completed the three-week board and train program with Criselda, and I truly could not be happier with the results! Before the training program, Larry was extremely reactive to moving cars, other dogs, and squirrels/rabbits. Even just simple walks had become stressful and overwhelming. He also really struggled with listening to commands and staying focused, especially around distractions. After spending three weeks with Criselda, the transformation has been incredible. Larry is so much calmer, more focused, more confident, and significantly easier to manage both at home and on walks. I can now take him on walks without the constant pulling and reacting, which has made such a huge difference and made walks enjoyable again. His obedience and ability to listen have improved so much, and I feel so much more confident handling him now. I really appreciated how communicative and caring Criselda was throughout the entire process. She sent daily pictures and videos updating me on Larry’s progress, which gave me so much peace of mind knowing that he was in such good hands. It was clear from the beginning how much she genuinely cares about every dog she wo
